NRX+ to pair with BFS Conquest?

Featured Replies

Does NRX+ have any casting rods that would pair well with a lighter BFS setup and can pair well with the BFS conquest.   I see they make a  ned rig rod, 801.  Anyone have any experience with this rod?  are there any others.

The Ned rod (821) is a spinning rod, and unless they have something new that's not on their site yet they do not make any 1 power casting rods. That said, I know some guys are very happy using the 852c for BFS and that may be your best bet for an NRX+. I have mine paired with the regular Aldebaran and have no problem throwing small 2.5" tubes with a 1/8oz head using 6# sniper. I imagine an actual BFS reel would really shine on that rod.

I highly suggesting 5.5' to 6.5' rod for this reel.

In the NRX+ line, I have the 802C and I have been able to cast a 1/16 jig head with 4in and 6in Roboworms with not issues but that is the lightest I would go with this rod. It is a struggle to a good cast sometimes as it not a true BFS rod. I have it paired with a Daiwa Steez CT.

I have not fished the Conquest BFS but I did consider it when I started to look for BFS reels. I believe that if you are wanting a true BFS rod, I am not sure that there is an NRX that fits the bill. I am still green when it come to BFS but I know in order to load a rod with these small baits you are going to need a soft whipping tip and nothing in the NRX line is like that.  I currently have a Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse and it works well but it too has it's limitations.  For the money, it's great though. I am up to about 200 bass in less than 2 months on this rod.

Maybe try a 842C?

802c.  I've read it is slightly less powerful than the 852.   Best you'll do in the nrx line.
