So now we have 3 versions of Metanium: 50 with aluminum gears, 70, and 100.   I thought only Daiwa does that.

Line capacity seems to be the same (12lb/100m).  Hopefully it is a smaller frame.  It looked like it had brass gears in a pic on shimano japan's site.  It weighs 6.17oz....

I posted this on Tackle Tour early this morning, and just visited only to find my thread had been deleted.  Somebody else had started a thread about it, and I had a reply.  When I hit 'enter' on my reply, it came up 'thread doesn't exist'.  Sure enough, that thread was deleted as well.  Makes you think Digitaka wasn't supposed to list it yet, and TT is maybe affiliated?

I still see the thread.  Speculation is that its a DC reel based on the price and the photo is an "example image" according to digitaka?

Looks the same reel as the 2020 with a deep spool.  So we now have a deep, shallow and regular spools available in the same reel.

The last four are line capacities for the 100.

I see my post now, but not the one I replied to.  No biggie.  If this is indeed a smaller framed Met...I'll be buying my first shimano since the mg50.

Hopefully the price Digitaka has listed is the MSRP, otherwise that's a pretty large price jump over the 20 Met and 22 Bantam.

Edit...It looks like that is the case, they still don't have a price listed in the actual sales price section.

Digitaka linked the '20 Met in their listing...that's where I got 12/100m.

Folks elsewhere are saying it's the same reel as the '20 Met, with a different spool and higher price.  If so, that is disappointing ?

From what I can dig up, the price is going up for all three models. Around $365 for the new version but in the past the price has been listed cheaper on most JDM sites after it came out.  They show two release dates, right handed version in March and left hand in May.

the only way to make the metanium better would to give it the infinity drive like the 22 bantam but they didnt do that. the reel is the same as the 20 version
