P-Line CXX #15 lb. vs. Yozuri- Hybrid #15 lb.

Both lines are .016" / .405mm diameter - which one do you prefer mainly for using with spinnerbaits / chatter baits ?

I've used both in #15, prefer CXX.  Found it handled just a little bit better, but I wouldn't complain if I was using the Yo-Zuri.  I use it for Chatterbaits/Spinnerbaits, Top Water and #12 for jigs in the winter.

I've used CXX in 12 lb and would never do that again.  It is the most wiry line I can recall using.  I can't imagine what the 15 lb would be like.  It ties a great knot (it's a hard line with a slick coating) but it looks like a slinky coming off the reel.

Neither.  Unless you are throwing 1oz or better, YZH 12 is more than enough for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in any bass environment I fish.  Probably more than enough even arond zebra mussels.

  Use KVD line conditioner, though.

I find both of those lines in anything higher than 12lb to be pretty wiry with a lot of memory. They're both also really thick lines, way thicker than most other lines per lb test.

Might want to try Sunline Shooter Defier. 15 lb. diameter is .013”. It’s very supple. Just started using it so not a ton of experience with it, but I like what I see so far.

I might be overkill but I throw spinners into everything.

17lb Trilene XL. I prefer a little give in the line and rod fishing spinners, I find I can keep them pinned better and my success rate is much better than braid or YoZuri.

I wouldn't use either above #12. You can pull a skier with CXX.

I generally go with 10lb CXX. It is plenty strong and ties a very good knot. I have never had a fish break me off, including a 40lb black drum on the Texas coast and numerous oversize reds.

Anything over the 10lbs in my experience has way too much memory.

I prefer CXX.  Both are crazy strong, but CXX is a coated line, and my clear CXX stays clear longer.  I thought the YZH turned a milky white color pretty fast.  I very rarely use the 15lb....but use 6-12lb frequently.  The way some anglers describe CXX is funny...like giving a baby a lemon slice.  If they made it more manageable, it would stretch more.

I've used both in the past.  I preferred the YoZuri.  The CXX was more like piano wire.

*Thanks for the replies - it appears dropping down to #12 lb. Yozuri-Hybrid would be best for what I want to do (no real heavy structure) with spinnerbaits .

*Looks like CXX may be better suited for strong leader used with braid for flipping / pitching.
