Hey y’all,

 

Tried this coffee this morning. What an experience. At first sip, “wow, this is strong. Don’t know if I like it.” More sips, “Okay it’s actually pretty good. Super smooth, full bodied, but dang, this stuff is strong.” Finish the cup, then later on, stuff starts happening. “Why am I so jittery?” “Why do I feel like I could run ten miles?” “Why do I feel like I never need to drink coffee again because I’ve filled my quota?” “Why do I have to crap so bad?”

 

If you are a coffee snob, and you like dark, strong coffees, this one is for you. It’s not for everybody, and I don’t think I could it every day, but man, it is good. I just had no idea what I was getting myself into

Been drinking it for years. Even converted my wife, who is a former Starbucks manager. If you ever get a chance to go to a Peet's coffee shop, so it. Peet's > Starbucks. 

It’s now on my list to try. I love a strong dark roast. Heard a lot of good things about Peet’s. If it’s better than Starbucks then it’s a must-try. Starbucks has always been near the top for me. 

I get my coffee from Stone Street in Brooklyn and their cold brew blend is what you describe and what I drink every morning

Cold brew isn't iced and it is stronger than any hot brew coffee.

I tried Peets once and it seemed like any other dark roast I've had.  Maybe it wasn't this specific flavor you speak of.  If I see it next time, I'll try it and report back.

Glad you enjoyed your experience with Peet’s Coffee @LrgmouthShad. If it wasn’t for Alfred Peet teaching those Starbucks guys how to properly roast coffee beans back in their days in Berkeley the coffee scene as we know it would possibly be much different.

I like their French roast very much, and it is not as strong as this. 
 

on my list to try is the Italian and Sumatra

Also, mine is the whole bean version. I have a grinder that outputs about a little greater than 5tbsps of ground per 20fl oz. That’s what I’ve found I like for my coffee maker. YMMV. When I made MAJ Dickason’s I could not see the bottom of the mug until there was hardly any coffee left

I have a grinder too.  Sometimes I buy whole beans to grind myself and sometimes I buy the pre-ground version.  I prefer to take the beans to a place like Starbucks and have them grind it into the "turkish" version.  It comes out thick that way and produces maximum flavor.  My wife can't stand it when I do this though, she thinks it tastes like mud.

I might try it sometime - though I've been very happy with my Caribou.

 

Course could be the same as both Peet's and Caribou are owned by JAB Holding Company of Luxembourg. They also own Bruegger's, Keurig, Krispy Kreme, Dr. Pepper, Einstein Bagels, Panera Bread and several other companies.

Doesn't count as what exactly?  I mean it is as much a coffee as any other style except it takes 24 hours or so to brew.

My machine makes a whole pot in under 3 minutes and it tastes great. I've had cold brew and it's good, but different.

I like it cause it's a MN company - their HQ is still here despite being owned overseas. I get ground and whole bean depending on whether I want to dig out my grinder - which can do everything from course ground to Turkish fine.

Almond milk is good on Honey Nut Cheerios, not in coffee. When exactly did you start hating puppies?

Puppies ?? Is up now down? Almonds don’t have udders so Almond milk doesn’t actually exist. Juice, maybe. Now dog milk is real, they have the glands. Puppies drink it

This is factually true.  "Milk" cannot be produced from plant material.  In 2019, the dairy industry successfully lobbied regulators to have "milk" solely defined as a term that is produced from an animal.  People who are lactose-intolerant often turn to non-dairy based products such as almond, coconut, or soy based products instead.

 

“An almond doesn't lactate,” according to FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, so almonds cannot be milked."
