Next baitcasting reel question. Sizing w respect to “power”

Hypothetically. If we compare apples to apples.

curado 150 vs curado 200. Does the 200 have more power or torque?  Or is it mostly line capacity?

im going overseas fishing and considering buying a new reel.  Maybe the Curado 150 DC or the 200 version.

I may be wrong but the way I think of it is like a rear end on a sports car. If the bigger reel has a bigger gear set with the right material and design it can handle more abuse. But the torque and power is in the ratio. Like a shorter gear like the 5 to 1's have more torque

Shimano Tranx 150 is extremely strong.

Tom

I have the 5.8 gear ratio Tranx 400A and it is very powerful.

I can retrieve big high resistant musky baits no problem.

they made a 300 size and also a 300 size Curado as well.

these might be better choices if you need something beefy

I don't think the normal sized bass reels will cut it ??

I have a 200 size Curado and a 150 size Curado DC and I don't see any difference in power between them.

I like the above idea of the Tranx. You might also consider a Tatula 300 or a Zillion HD.

This is third on the list.  Thx

I don’t believe there is any direct correlation between  size and power within a model.  For example the shimano E50 and E200 had identical internals.

I am second in TranX you can do any size depending on the fishing you going to do.
