The only one I’ve seen is the coat hanger or letting them hang from a wire running through the eyelet but this is very space consuming for the few I take with me on the river.  Is there any sort of protective sleeve I could put over it or a molded case that they don’t move or collide in?

There’s wallets similar to a spinner bait wallet, there hanging boxes you can make yourself, 3700 boxes with hooks or a rubber band at the end to hold the head, etc. there’s a million different solutions, just depends on how many baits

Can you link me? Got about 5-6 baits.

Google ‘bait wallet’ and then pick the size you need at whatever price point. I like Lakewood and have a large box by them. There’s also a ton of videos on the Swimbait websites about making hanging carriers from small Rubbermaid boxes.

lots of people use swimbait wraps, I just keep them in the original packaging as long as possible because I'm a redneck ?

Would that protect the brush tail though? They get bent unusually easily and require boiling water to be straightened.

I don't know, but Ben Milliken who I think is the greatest in the world at these baits literally throws them in a big tupperware.    

 

 

 

 

6th Sense Trace Swimbait box looks perfect.

Harbor freight has egg crate foam hard plastic gun/tool case the works good and inexpensive.

There’s literally a few dozen solutions, paper towel tubes being the cheapest and it goes up through Tupperware to custom boxes from there.

I mostly beat the banks from shore. I keep mine in the original packaging in my backpack with the tail pointed upwards so the weight of the bait doesn't sit on the tail.

So don't do that. Put them in a sleeve, chuck 'em in a bag, and don't worry about it. I don't and I don't know anyone else who does, and I fish with a few big bait freaks. These baits are helicoptering through the air on the cast and crashing down into the water. Often tail first. Once wet, they'll straighten out if they happen to distort slightly during temporary storage in a sleeve. Just don't purposely bend the sleeve and it'll be fine, if you're concerned.

 

Hanging them to dry tail down after fishing at home somewhere safe is a good idea though. I have a storage space downstairs with open wall studs where I stapled wire horizontally onto them and use this as a drying station. Drip drying helps to keeps the rust off any wet bait. So that's a plus.

That’s a solid idea. I just have a few custom that came without traditional packaging.

They love that bull shad

Made mine from the $12 Sterilte container at Walmart. It's the one with a handle on the lid. Run 2 or 3 pieces of 1/4 in all thread fastened to the sides with cap nuts. I can hang baits up to 11 inches.

Just get a big open 3600 or 3700 size and throw them in there. I always have and throw large swimbaits and they don't take anything special. Most of the swimbait guys overthink it.

That’s what I’ve got now, Plano Edge Flex with the dividers removed.

I use pelican boxes with two side of sponge/foam and keep everything very nice. my other pelican with brush tails in my truck, But look at this pictures of what I have in home and it is the same, In my other box I have around 20 swim bits up to 8" and all the tails of always straight.

I tried all the system above including the hanging but they always tangled to each other specially when hooks have no cover. I found this pelican vaults as ultimate solution to keep them safe and straight.

Yes I did but I have more than 30 very large swim baits and I need them all in one place. Even I have them each in one bait wrap, At the end I need a big suit case to carry them around  So better like this.

for some special bait like mother chaser and goat plush and deps 370 I carry individually if I plan to throw them.
