ML spinning setup - which line?

Featured Replies

I'm wondering which is the best floro (6-8lb) for a ML spinning setup? I want to end up with 2 setups, both around 7-7'6" in length. One xfast, the other med fast.

Wondering which line would perform the best.

It's hard to argue against Tatsu for straight fluorocarbon.  Buy once cry once.

I have two med light setups. One I solely have set up for drop shot with 8lb sniper on it. The other I have 10lb 832 with a leader.

I have 6 or 7 ML spinning rigs and all but one have 6# Tatsu on them now. Previously, I used Invisx with hood results as well. The single outlier has 20# braid and whatever size Gold Label leader I deem appropriate, if at all. Sometimes direct to braid is the way.

10# braid 832 or PowerPro to a leader of 12 - 15# mono

When it comes to FC, IME you get what you pay for.  If youre on a budget, #6-#8 InvizX is where you should start.  #6 for a 3k or smaller #8 for a 4k.  Havent had a ton of experience with light Tatsu, but was impressed with the 8lb.  6lb InvixZ handles pretty well, but the 8lb Tatsu handled better.  I dont know if it was just in my head, but I felt like I had better a better connection to my bait, especially bottom contact baits.  I had a similar feeling about the stretch, or lack of it, in comparison with InvizX.

I do Tatsu InvizX

Tough to beat Sniper or Tatsu and I've had good success with both all the way down to 4# as long as the drag is adjusted down.
