Withdrawals from (not) fishing.

Featured Replies

Used to fish 4-5 days a week. Got married, bought a house, work etc i get out once a or twice a week now. It’s all part of life, fishing is just gravy on top of everything else

Besides my court ordered monthly minimum fishing trips for everybody's safety, my wife will at times will just say " Go Fishing". I have no idea what brings that statement out of her.?

We all have obligations and things that'll try to impede us from fishing. Sometimes you just have to go fishing while everybody's sleeping and sneak a few naps in where you can the next day.

I go at least a couple of times a week from March-April until October. Once waterfowl season starts up the fishing gear is put away until the next spring. Sometimes we'll do a steelhead cast & blast in early hunting season.

I get real depressed/anxious if I don't get out on the water. After 2 weeks of no fishing, I'm major down in the dumps. Even in winter, I still get out to calm myself.

Even with all the money I’ve spent on gear and tackle, it’s still cheaper than therapy.

My sweetheart can tell when I am under fished. I try to go at least once a week. but often it is every couple of weeks and if it goes beyond that I am seriously jonesing.

I know the drill, been there.

Working 6 days a week, 2 kids in school playing sports, wife going back to school.

Sold my Bass boat as I never had time to go.

BUT that was yesteryear and at 62 have been blessed with good health and been taking advantage of it.

Bought another boat and fish 3 days per week.

Think I'm developing tennis elbow ?

Sometimes when I know I'm not going to have enough time to fish I will run over to BPS for a quick fix.  I may not even buy anything. I just walk the aisles and look at the tackle.

A few years ago my wife's car went into the shop and it was in there over the weekend.  She was using my car to do all of her errands, and I sat at home.  You really didn't want to be around me that weekend.

My mother in law just left our place to go back home. I’ll be fishing this evening after work, you can bet your bottom dollar. And yes @Darth-Baiter, people still say bet your bottom dollar

You said "bottom." I'm telling.

you winterland people, i feel for you all over the long frozen winter.

Bass Resource made it worse! In December, January, February, and early March, southern fishers kept posting and posting and POSTING pics of bass. In desperation, I'd go down to the water and drag my Whopper Plopper across the ice, hoping for a 40-pounder that could punch through. Never happened.*

*I did have quite a few 30-pounders crack the ice, trying to reach my Whopper Plopper, but they simply weren't strong enough. The ice is long gone, but I'll never fish those ponds with the 30-pounders again. I just don't fish for weak bass.

It’s just a lull you are in. Things will break and it will be like it never happened. Hang tight and finish up what you are doing.
