I'm giving in...best Alabama rig advice please.

Featured Replies

I'm finally giving in and going to the dark side.  Please tell me your favorite brand/model of Alabama rig.  I'm look for 3 and 5 wire versions (Illinois allows it on some lakes but I'll have to do 2 hooks and a dummy on other lakes).

These?

What brand/model do you like for jig heads?

Suggestion for dummy heads that hold the swimbait well?

Do you use hollow swimbaits?

I've got several set-ups already that will easily throw this rig.

Thanks in advance.

This is the easy button for a normal size rig.....and they come with Scottsboro swimbaits which are amazing.   So much bang for your buck, and everything you need in one kit.

Sometimes however the fish want a finesse A-Rig, and that's when I throw a Picasso Finesse Bait Ball rig

I like the smallest Scottsboro Tackle/Yum or 3.25 Rage Swimmers on Strikeking Squadron Jr heads.

I run 1/8th and 5 hooks because I'm in Alabama.

I agree. The Scottsboro/yum rigs are reasonable in price and fish really good.

That covers it pretty well.

my A-Rig is from HogFarmer or something.  i like the extra spinning blades.

it casts like lawn furniture, but comes thru water looking great.  my baits, are "my name is Jeff" swimbaits.  my heads are too heavy, and wish i gone lighter.  i think mine are 1/4th.

how many fish on it?  ZERO.  hahahha..  i cant stand casting it.
