The one thing the article doesn't mention, are the pike minnows an invasive species, or just unwanted. This would be a hell of a part time job if I lived in OR.

Sign me up!  Converted carp fisherman..

*goes to Oregon to get rich fishing*

At least I'm now in a great place to be homeless.

Raises Pike Minnows in basement, turns in copious amounts of Pike Minnows to the boogeymen hunting G-Men

Profit massively

Retire and build a 1000 acre temple to the Bass Gods in Texas where I'll maintain a pride of Pike Minnows to always remember what the great state of Oregon bought me 😁

part-time? this guys catching 69 fish a day, every day, for 5 months to hit that number

at least he chose a good number for the average per day

Pikieminnows are a native species. The dams give them a predatory advantage so the power companies fund a bounty on them as part of a mitigation of the impact of dams on salmon. The guys who make serious money go through a grueling effort to do so. I don't participate since I am not in support of killing a native species but I don't begrudge those who try to make some money.

So you have poor salmon returns, even worse Steelhead runs, and then you remove the Pike minnow, in some streams you will have nothing.

In that case, let mother nature take care of herself.
