The New Plan

Featured Replies

My wife and I have signed up with a new Medicare plan through Aetna. It seems like a good plan for us.                                          Many of the benefits are similar to our old plan as far as dental, optical, and prescriptions etc.             They encourage older folks to get outside and exercise. Fishing, camping, hiking and walking are all considered healthy outdoor activities.                                      The best part is they reimburse up to 1200 dollars per year for fishing rods, camping gear, and athletic shoes etc.                   I don't really need another fishing rod, but if they're going to pay for it, why not? I can see a new rod in the coming year.             I'm glad people realize that fishing is a healthy thing to do for anyone, young or old.                               Good for the body, and good for the mind.            For this 66 year old fisherman, I think this new plan will work out very well.

That is nice to hear.  I know pretty much every insurance plan I have been on offers wellness gift cards and stuff for doing their list of activities or online modules.  Easy free money...

Definitely gets my blood pressure up!

I have a theory that insurance & bait monkey are quite possibly one & the same. Would make a good Discovery Channel mockumentary - "Finding Bait Monkey" or “Expedition Bait Monkey".

My insurance sends me a Christmas card sometimes. There’s no money in it though.

@TnRiver46 bet he wouldn’t tell me to pay my medical bills instead of getting that new Dobyns rod though.

I just last night downloaded a movie named, Mending the Line, I had no idea it had alot of fishing related stuff in it pertaining to your post. I thought it was a war movie, man was i surprised, my wife even cried at the end of the movie.
