Super excited. A few months back, I got a job with Virtus Rods as a home wrapper. I am now working on building my own as well.

   I'll drop a couple reviews this weekend. The JB3, Big Bear Rods, and some Denalis. Hope everyone else is doing as well as me right now. I'm floating. So happy. 😁

   I became friends with the owner of the local shop in my town. He knows the owner of Virtus. The owner needed some people and I called him. He hired me and I had to prove I could do it. 

     I did. I make around 40 rods a week. It's awesome. Just find someone near you that actually makes the rods. If they're looking, it's pretty easy to get a job.

Thanks. I live at n an area with 2 builders that I know about and there's at least 1 more. I moved here to try and get into the fishing industry. It's one of the places that is known for it. Northern Arkansas.

That is awesome! Learning build rods is something that crosses my mind every once in a while but getting paid to do that? That is win-win! 😎

Labor of love. Learn it. Perfect it. Even if you move on to a different career path you can always build on the side for extra cash or just for yourself.

That's awesome ....congrats Alex!  It took me 8-10 years of patience and persistence to get tapped on the shoulder to do that job as well.  Its a wonderful and humbling feeling to wake up everyday and get paid for doing something you love to do.  

I can't emphasize enough to others who might be wanting to do something you are passionate about on "patience and persistence" especially in a generation full of the instant gratification, self deserving mindset.

Correct. I'm a home wrapper. Independent contractor I guess. But ya, I only work for one manufacturer.

      Hey! You're Talkin bout my Gen-er-a-tion!!!! My generation!!! LoL couldn't resist. I'm an elder Millennial, but yes, my generation is broken. I was too until I got into fishing. 

   I've been doing it 3 years on February 10, my birthday. Fishing I mean. I got really lucky to get this opportunity. I waited. Got real knowledgeable about rods. One of the guys from Virtus heard me rambling and gave a card to the shop owner, who is kinda like a Dad to me. 

    He gave me the card. I called, and off I went. Patience is everything. I'm happier now than I've ever been. Just ecstatic with getting to play with fancy toys all day. A dream job.

You did it on your own. Bass fisherman are made on the lake not the internet or tackle shop but it's sure fun to try new stuff.

I've only had the pleasure of meeting Jordan one time. That man is a walking dictionary on rods outta that building. If I see him I'll mention it.

    I just got 2, BRAND NEW, Falcon Cara T7 rods for $100 for both. Couldn't believe it. Excited to finally get one. 

    I definitely put in the work, but you and others helped me understand where to look. I couldn't be any happier. 

    

That T7 is a great blank. What models did you get ?

Finesse jig and Head Turner. I'm actually about to sell em. Huge profit. I'm really enjoying my Big Bear rods. Excellent build.
