What is the most expensive lure?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what the most expensive lure you guys have seen is. I also dont mean funny novelty lures like that dimond plated spoon that cost $2000. I mean lures that you are actually supposed to use to catch fish with. The most I have seen a lure cost is $40. I saw two $40 lures thismorning browsing the internet online and you can see them in my strange lures thread. Just wondering if any of you have seen more expensive lures than this?

Swimbaits can get up there, I've seen them for 80, 90, or 100 bucks.  Crazy!  Antique lures on Ebay sometimes go for a lot, I saw some Bagley BB1 grubtails go for around $90 each, one went for over 200 a couple of weeks ago.

Anything less would be uncivilized.

Wouldent it be horrible if you had one of these lures and lost it to a snag, or a big bass pulling it into dense cover or something....thats why I never buy any lures over $15

The one you don't have when you really need it.

Hard swimbaits, specially the ones made from wood can reach prices of 3 or 4 hundred dollars, so that probably makes them the most expensive lures.

Crankbaits running to 40+ bones are not uncommon, particularily jerkbaits from Megabass, Megabass produced a color palettè on certain baits that was only available through a year ( reason why you will see Megabass baits with a year number painted on top of the bait ), those baits can cost a lot more than the regular baits, such is the case of several colors of the Vision 110 that sell for 40 or more dollars. Apparently Megabass has left such practice down, none of my newest Megabass lures is dated. Certain Megabass lures like the Gatta X are always expensive, you can find them and they usually run for 40+ dollars.

Discontinued lures are always expensive, if you happen to have a Glow Coach Dog Jitterbug in your arsenal don 't fish with it ! that lure is worth around 4 or 5 hundred dollars if it 's NIB.

yeah i was gonna say, the Rago Trout TOOL is like 300 bucks. i dont know who would pay 300 dollars just to catch a fish, and you may not even catch any or many on those kinds of lures. sure the FEW you may catch will be huge, but heck, the world record bass (22lb 4oz) was caught on a plain ole' floating rapala, if im not mistaken.

I have never seen a wood swimbait cost more than about 150.

The 12" Huddleston soft baits are going for between 100 and 200 depending upon condition and number.

George Perry's world record bass was caught on a Creek Chub Wiggle Fish.

oh ok, i thought it was a rapala. well still...im sure they cost about the same! who needs expensive baits to catch nice fish! ;)

The one thing people tend to overlook when talking about these expencive baits is the guys who fish them have a distinct edge. Not because the baits are the best in the wolrd(you havent seen my top end bait yet ;)) but because there are only a few people using them. Think about how good a Senko would work if only 100 guys had access to them and there were no copies.

BassBoat 10-60K$, Truck to pull boat 20-40K$, Gas to lake & back $100, rods reels line 200-700$, high quality lures $10-$30 each.

A lure that works anywhere, anytime, all the time,   priceless.

Fishing used to be the poor mans sport. A cane pole and a worm.

My things have changed quickly

Many lakes are now charging ramp fees also.

The 3:16 Armageddon is $250 and the Rago Trout TOOL is $300.

Must be nice to have one of those, or even two huh buddy!!!  I need to train my women to buy me one

Yeah she did buy me one, what can I say, I have an awesome girlfriend! ( Who went night fishing with me last night, after she got off work, till 4am btw)

Its not my fault I have two of them and didn't pay for either one
