Second that. There's a lake I fish where a shooting broke out over parking (https://mynews13.com/fl/orlando/news/2017/09/29/argument_over_parkin). Love fishing there, but I feel a little sad whenever I launch.

Don't be those people, don't be an a**hole, realize that everyone on the lake to have a good time. That's my dogma.

It's no joke when the lead flies. Been on the wrong end of it 4x's, one of which was when I was on the water fishing in my yak. Not fun at all.

As in just about every aspect of my post retirement life, my fishing dogma is to have fun and enjoy myself. If I'm not having fun or enjoying something, I'll drop it like a hot rock. Life is to short.

You can have mine!

Some of mine:

Keep moving

Always bring a tape/scale

Always bring pliers

Never keep the first fish you catch (that one was the easiest to catch so I want that one to reproduce)

If you lose 4 rigs/lures, go home early

Senkos only come in 4 colors: green pump, watermelon red, black and blue, and chartreuse pepper

Do not fish spinnerbaits, they don't work

@TheLastBestFishlose 4 rigs...good call!

Reminds me of a buddy, commercial electrician...his Dogma: "if I get shocked twice in one day...it's time to go home...that third time is likely going to really hurt, or kill me."

Spinnerbaits...yea, they don't work ; )

Any day I can go fishing is a Good Day.

Any day I catch fish is a Great Day.

My fishing dogma is Labrador Retriever:

Don’t worry about looking stupid.

Have fun whatever you’re doing.

Bring snacks.

What works for me , works for me; doesn't mean it'll ever work for you.

@MN Fisher: I laughed until I cried. Thank you.

@keagbassr: Having seen the consistency of your big bass, I sure with I knew what you do and that it would work for me too!

@MN Fisher - it’s a mutt of black and meth…

1. Don't leave to find fish

2. Never rely fully on other's advice

3. Don't work a bait a specific way 100% of the time, let the fish dictate what you do

4. Analyze everything about your catch

5. Safety trumps everything else on the water
