Similar line to Seaguar Tatsu

Can anyone point me to the second best line that's close to Seaguar Tatsu Fluorocarbon - 22lb that's not quite that expensive but maybe the same line diameter as it?

Tatsu, to me, stands alone at the top. There is nothing quite like it. There is Sunline Assassin but not quite as good Tatsu. I tend to like Sniper Invisible and BMS better but they are still pricey. The closest I have found to Tatsu is Seaguar R18 Limited.  I order it from Japan Lure Shop.  It's usually around $12 for 100m spool. In order to make it worthwhile I usually order line every time I make a purchase.

I tried Tatsu for the first time last year, it’s a really good line but I didn’t see much difference between it and the P-Line Tactical line I’ve been using the past few years. I use 12 lb so not sure about the bigger diameter lines though.

@LonnieP and  @Maverick2017 probably have the answers you're looking for - 2nd best in USM.

@FishTank nailed it for USM products, and R18 is essentially the same product packaged for JDM.

The one JDM fluoro I've tried that stands above all isn't the answer you're looking for, but I've found Toray ExThread to combine both limpness and low-memory, which are normally competing properties in fluorocarbon.  Toray states each diameter/test is formulated separately to achieve this.

Sunline Shooter has all the same performance toss up to Tatsu imo.

Daiwa J- Samurai FC comes close to Tatsu at a lower price, a step up from Sunline Sniper.

Toray is very good FC line but can’t keep the changing brand names and reducing meters of line on the spools.

If you dont find a line you like, Amazon has great pricing on Tatsu. 1,000yds of 22lb is under $200

Daiwa Samurai in 22 is my new flipping line. It’s really good stuff and it comes in 250 yard spools. I paid 29$ for mine you’ll have to look around to get it that cheap though.

R18 would be the ticket. No, it's not Tatsu in another package.  It's not the same thing, but it is formulated for tournament anglers.  So it's the next best thing.  However, it's not available in 22lb.  They have it in 20lb though.

btw, Seaguar makes terrific braid lines too!
