Must be nice. It’s been too windy and icy to hunt the past month. The water has been solid since Christmas. I’ve had three free afternoons or full weekend days and not been able to do anything with them.  This year is the first in the past five that I’ve been truly stir crazy at not getting out. The warm rain yesterday opened up the creeks and I’m contemplating a winter trout trip tomorrow but with 24 hours of 28 to 11 degree weather I fear there will be a bunch of ice tomorrow.

We are finally thawed out in NC and hoping to remain that way. Pretty sure we will, super nice week coming up. Just in time too because I was spiraling. I think my kayak will get wet within the week 😎

yeah, it was 15 when I got up.  Never got above 26. I went to the grocery store at 11 to gauge and just walking from the front door to the truck was tough on the fingers. No way I was fishing in that. I don’t like my chances over the next ten days either.

We've had nice weather here but my lake temp is just above freezing. All the ice from our recent cold snap melted (yea, ice, first time i've seen my lake iced over in 5 years!). Might be hitting the water late February or early March when water warms up a bit. Historically when our water gets in the bottom 40s and 30s I dont catch anything unless I foul hook a fish.

In January we had temps ranging from single digits to upper 50s.  Looks like February is going to hold the same pattern, at least for a while.

I went fishing with my Dad this afternoon. The thermometer in the suburban showed 92 degrees.

Same temps up here too.

Well, I'd need to subtract 82 degrees.

But other than that we are totally the same.
