Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could recomend what you think is the best line for fishing docks? I am most interested in Floro or Mono as the problem I was having last year was the line was getting damaged and cut from rubbing on the dock frame, expecially if Zebra muscles are pressent. Thank you. 

Zebras are brutal, I deal with them in all the waters I fish.  I don't think any line is immune, but I've had the best luck with 14lb sunline shooter for flourocarbon and 15lb maxima ultragreen for mono.  Learning to turn them away when hooked up and always checking/retying your line between casts keep me from losing most encounters.

If you fish docs all the time it might be economical to use a CoPoly or Mono, they hold up better than all the FC line I have tried other than leader material and the flagship FCs that I haven't tried.  Ive found Big Game to be tough as nails.  IME #10 BG is about as strong as #15 InvizX as far as breaking strength goes.  If you do gash the line up and have to respool, its very budget friendly. 

Cxx CoPoly has a little less stretch than mono and the coating makes it harder for the fish to see, allegedly anyway.  Ive got limited experience with it, but a buddy of mine who fishes lots of tourneys likes it for flipping jigs, which is his favorite way to fish.

I hate say it but when it comes to longevity and overall wear and tear, Tatsu has been the best. Another is R18 LTD. It's been great so far and a little softer than Tatsu. I also like Sunline Invisible and FC Sniper.  I have yet to find a mono that will hold up to the conditions mentioned. 

If you're fishing docks with razor clams, you're going to get cut off, plain and simple. 20lb Tatsu has handled it best for me. Picking your cast helps to hopefully not rub on anything any more than you have to if you hook up with a fish.

Thanks everyonefor your advice. The line I wass using was Seaguar Red, maybe thats not the best flourocarbon line as far as abraision resistance. After watching several videos on Youtube over the weekend that were testing fishing line, most of their results showed that Mono and Copoly outperformed Flour as far as abrasion goes? I like flouro for the sensitivity but I have noticed that it does break off more often then other types of line, seems more brittle?

I have a couple spools of 15 lbs fluoro that I have been curious to try (P-Line CX and Sunline Shooter). Can I buy a new pair of those at pants TW? Mine seem to be defective.

 

Might need to try some hurt feelings insurance (aka KVD Line & Lure) to go along with those big boy pants in size Double Bubba too. It's been just long enough since the last time I spooled a reel with fluoro that I can't quite recall why I swore I wouldn't do that again.
