This year the city council passed an ordinance making it legal to shoot fireworks between 8 and 10 on July 3rd, fourth and fifth. It sounded like Tehran here last night. Every direction loud booms and explosions. A house burned down .. I speculate this will be the only year for this.

Council gave a bunch of rednecks permission to launch all the fireworks they want for three days IN TOWN and only one house was burned down? I don't know whether to be proud of 'em or disappointed in 'em.

Just to be clear, I don't use the term redneck in a derogatory manner, as I'm 100% hillbilly, and the only difference between a hillbilly and a redneck is the altitude at which we reside. 😂😉

I'll be the voice of dissent here.

I don't care for fireworks.  They're loud and people shoot them off whenever they want to without any respect for others.  At my last house they would go off for weeks at random times of the day and during the night which got old pretty quick.

Luckily, the neighborhood I live in now is much, much quieter and I rarely hear any other than a few off in the distance on the 4th of July at dusk.
