What are these 8 holes to the left, just aft of the rod locker?

Rod tip storage for co-angler. Can’t say for positive without seeing the other end where the butt ends would lay but pretty sure.

Like @Motoboss said. Is there a rod strap on the rear deck that would hold the rod?

They are for the rod handle.  They are in most all bass boats.

So, the rod handle goes in there and the tip stretches back to the back deck for the co-angler's rods?

Most assuredly, one end or the other but I am sure @Jig Man nailed it.

Yes.  Early bass boats didn’t have coangler rod storage.  Then the first iteration was a little ramp to the left of the passenger seat.  The butts snugged up to the rod locker wall or under the console if a DC boat.  Then manufacturers started putting butt holders like that so the rods can tucked in just a little further.

My Ranger is a 2015 and it does not have these. I wish it did. The newer versions of the model I have come with these.

There is not a great way for passenger rod storage in my boat. I installed a strap myself which will allow about 3-4 setups to be stored there. It’s all I could come up with.
