What the.......

Is that thing for real? Or are you pulling our leg?

What model is that

The one I looked at didn't have starlink, deal killer 😁

Saw a guy launching a clean looking 18 ft center console bay boat last week. Was struggling to start the 2 stroke but it eventually ran. Anyway he said he got it + trailer for 1500. Crazy that people are trying to invest similar $ in kayaks lately. Just get a cheap used outboard.

Pulling legs here… But told my wife I found a use for our tax refund and I bought a second kayak. She shot me “the look” when I showed her the picture. Told her being the great guy that I am, that she can have my old one.

We’re speaking again, but she has asked twice now - “You’re kidding right?”

Wait, that's what you think that is?

My electronics background tells me that is a solar panel to keep his batts charged up for all those "discharging" gidgets, gadgets and gizmos he has on there. Heck, I would of put 3 of them on that and added a subwoofer and surround sound too!

Who knows, maybe he can stand on the solar panel!

I think he was joking on the platform comment.

Kayak anglers have different reasons for not buying boats and here are some of them.

1. Ongoing upkeep and maintenance costs of boats

2. Being able to car top a lighter kayak

3. Being able to launch anywhere

4. Being able to fish in spots that boats can't get to

5. A much closer connection with nature

There's also being part of an unwritten club, especially when it comes to tournament fishing. If you go to a kayak tournament just about everyone is friendly and wants to swap stories and hang out. The same goes if you head to a random lake and run into another kayak angler.

I've done both kayaks and boats, and there's just something about being out there in a kayak that you don't get from a boat. The only drawback is speed on the water. You try and compensate with being really quick at getting your kayak off and on the trailer and getting to another ramp.

I'll wait for the one that'll float a Mercury 400R.

I’ll go ahead a flatly disagree with that statement. There is a long list of items that a yak does not have that a boat does.

But that’s another thread. So I’ll refrain from commenting here.

but the biggest drawback is... lack of speed..

I agree.  That's how it should have initially been worded.

Not the "only" drawback.
