School me on home spun Beetle Spins

I want to make some beetle spins by using jig heads and spinner arms.

I know Hildebrant makes jig spinners. Are they the best? Are there other options? Which size matches the 1/4oz beetle spin?

What options are there for similar beetle bodies? I know I could go curlytail grub, but I don't always want that.

Their Flicker Spinner was my all time favorite!

I'm sorry I have nothing to add to your question.

Bazoo, post in the tackle making thread. You will probably get blown up by ideas.

I have replaced the cheap swivel with a ball bearing one and the colorado blade with a willow leaf.  Put the harness on a swimbait and 1/4 oz head and have a souped up Beetle spin.

I've done this also. Make sure the hook is sharp, and you can sub all sorts of soft plastics.Grubs, paddle tails, or a section of plastic worm or Senko. Good luck with them Bazoo

Search "jig spinner" online and you can find some very cheap. I got a 50 pack of silver and gold Colorado blade jig spinners this year on Alix for around $5. I like using them with 1/4-3/8oz jigs. It is my #1 go to for pressured fish in any water type.

Hildebrandt jig spinners are much better quality than the cheap ones.  The snap part that attaches to the jig eye stays closed, The cheap ones can twist open, the swivel is not a ball bearing but it spins easily, the cheap ones use cheap swivels, and the finish on the blade is much better.

That said, that's a huge difference in price, the cheap jig spinners still catch fish.  To each their own, I've used both and prefer hildebrandt.

And a size 3 would be about right for a 1/4 oz.
