@Tennessee Boy my only question is…what do you do for a living? If you aren’t compiling data I think you missed your calling. 😁

I'm retired.  Before that I was a software developer..  So I guess you could say it was my calling.  Now I just do it for fun.  😆

I’m very anti banning things in general if everyone has access to it but I think on the subject of tournament fishing - the fact that it has SO little of an impact on the end results AND causes SO much controversy and negative energy surrounding the industry - banning or limiting its usage makes a lot of sense for the sport.

I think the technology is good and should be legal for people to use when guiding or fishing commercially or recreationally.

I like learning for myself and FFS just lets people do that for once instead of some nonsensical bass master magazine drivel that is intended to sell a bait.

Limiting its use to one period seemed to work very well for the BPT this year. I think it made the tournaments more interesting. Three tournaments were won by anglers who didn’t use FFS at all on the final day. Overall, the BPT had a very strong year in 2025, with three tournaments decided in the final minutes. The Nickajack tournament, won in the final seconds, was especially exciting. Sports leagues always generate more interest when they have a Tiger Woods– or Caitlin Clark–type superstar, and Jacob Wheeler is currently fishing at that superstar level on the BPT.

This is my second season using Live scope. It has most definitely changed how I fish. I fish a lot more finesse than I did with mostly power fishing before. I'd say before I was an 80% shallow and 20% deep fisherman now I spend most of my time in deeper water or offshore so I'd say now I'm probably 90% deep and 10% shallow guy. I will only fish shallow when I see for certain there are bass on my screen. I used to be a big spinnerbait and crankbait guy now the jig head minnow, drop-shot, and neko rig is about all I throw. I have caught more and bigger fish on the jig head minnow than any other two baits combined since the beginning of last year. My biggest bass since last year though was a smallmouth nearly pushing 6lbs and it came off a 1/2 football jig dragging it in 30ft of water NOT using live scope. I will say without a doubt 100% factual statement that FFS has made fishing a lot more fun for me and has produced a lot more fish and has given me a lot more confidence as an angler. Looking back on it now, I don't even really remember what it was like to fish without it.

My person opinion for tournaments - either use it 100% or don't use it at all. I don't like  this back and forth part time this and part time that stuff that MLF and Bass are doing. Either use it like Bass did last year or ban it completely like NPFL did last year.

I’m with ya @RHuff, the back and forth, half and half, 1/3 vs 2/3 just keeps this ridiculous conversation going. Probably drives engagement and viewership but I’m

over it haha. The debate has lasted 4-5 years, bout time to move on

....Oops, posted in the wrong topic :)

carry on...

I'm hoping they will allow the Alabama Rig in half the tournaments next year with another coin-flip show to determine which ones.  Coin-flips are exciting to watch.  😆

I don't see that happening.  Because the A rig is in fact subject to various state-specific rules.  Some states can have unlimited hooks, some have limitations.  For that reason, when they go from state to state, some angler will inevitably forget the rule in that state, and they will get fined.

Its not the same as comparing it to electronics restrictions because to my knowledge, no state is different than another on that front.

The simple solution is don’t allow FFS during tournament practice, that will level the field fast!

Well everyone has access to the same tech. The field was already level.
