Fish it or keep it?

Featured Replies

I’m pretty low on spinnerbaits so I did some digging downstairs just now.

Found one and was ready to tie it on but stopped and said to myself, “Maybe I should keep this.”

It’s a brand spanking new T1 Terminator. Don’t have the package anymore but it’s never seen the water.

I don’t know why, but I’m having a hard time putting it on. lol

There are people selling these for $20-$40, even used ones.

Fish it?

Keep it?

I had one and only one T1. Very first cast the blade flew off never used it after that.

I say use it

Fish it! What did you originally buy for?

But I'm a user, not a collector. All my rods, reels, lures, guns, etc. have stories connected to them and that's what matters to me.

I would use it. I like the way the Terminator blades feel. The lures will unexpectedly break after a few dozen bass , at least the two I had did. I was able to recover the blades on one and those blades have been putting bass in the boat ever since. I pour my own baits and after about fifty bass I retire it and put the blades on a new bait.

If you can sell it for $30, sell it. If you don’t want to go through the trouble, use it.

I would keep it and use it. I had one I lucked into 3 years ago. I bought a small lot of fishing stuff on ebay at a good price, and it had one in it.

It took me back to my childhood, when the Terminator Spinnerbait was endorsed by Bill Dance. I watched faithfully every Sunday morning.

I ended up spending some of my birthday money and getting a single T-1 back then. It had a turtle blade, and came with 2 skirts, a white and a firetiger. It was pretty expensive back then, I don't know how much.

So anyways, I was fishing with the T-1 I had got off ebay, in my plastic bass boat, with a friend, when I snagged his line on my back cast. It broke my line and the spinnerbait went flying and landed in the water.

I tried to retrieve it several times, both by sticking my arms in as it was shallow and with magnets, to no avail.

If it was original in unopened  condition i would not use it. Otherwise, i would fish it.

Use it….

My Dad used to say “ I bought this to catch fish on it, or loose it, trying to catch fish on it.”

I still have 4 left, and they all get fished.  I've replaced the skirts on a couple but they are still my favorites.

I don't understand why nobody else is making something similar given how much they are sought after.
