If a bass boat and a kayak had a baby...

...it would be this Yamaha Crosswave (due out in 2026). Technically, it's part of their jet ski lineup. But from the pictures it has a built in Simrad electronics and a trolling motor can be fitted. But I don't see foot pedal controls for the trolling motor and there's not much room on the bow.

I saw somewhere that the price will be around $23k or more. For that price you can get a new, entry level aluminum bass boat. Still, it's an interesting concept.

The Pontoon of waverunners?

The past couple years have seen the main waverunner companies turning their standard rigs into fishing specific rigs.  It looks like they have finally gotten a redesign specific for fishing into the market.

They are saltwater intended.  Simrad tells you that right away as does the riptide (white) motor.  I bet they will be popular with saltwater guys who don't fish that far out.  Much cheaper than a proper boat, easier to store (garage), less maintenence.  That said, why not for freshwater too?  I'm sure they will work for someone in freshwater.

Those are sweet looking! Showed one of my sons and

he immediately said "no way if it has a jet". We have

relatives and friends who have experienced nothing but

trouble with jet skis. Very $$ upkeep.

Welp, that's a new one on me. I could see it being popular.

I’ve been seeing more and more people fishing off jet skis the last couple of years.

There’s some really cool setups, and they are even having PWC only tournaments.

I realize these are popular with the saltwater guys that fish the coast and inland waterways, but if they made something like this that was all electric I'd be seriously interested in it for all of the freshwater, bass-filled lakes around my area that are either low HP limit or don't allow you to have a gas motor attached at all.  I would have to have a foot-controlled TM, however.

fresh water at 23k? Get yourself a  aluminum hull jet boat and show the kayakers you can get there too.

Always knew kayaks were a little kinky. ;)

Doggone kayak voyeurs!

I'm not sure about this, to me it looses all the advantages of a kayak and all of the boat's as well, if we are talking about bass fishing. Saltwater I definitely see it.
