My first NRX+ and Metanium MGL reel

Featured Replies

I won a tournament and splurged. I acquired the NRX+ CRR (new <wholesale>) and accompanied it with a Metanium MGL (used) 6.2:1. I'm curious what you feel is the best use for this combo. Relatively new to bass, but experienced enough to win a tournament. I know I'll get a different view from just about every different fisherman, been doing this long enough to realize internet information, still want to hear from the fine people here. Thanks

Definitely a good dragging rod. Should be able to throw casting jigs, Texas rig plastic. Bet it pitches good.

My kind of rod.

My thoughts exactly, jig, carolina rig and Texas-rigs would be excellent. Mostly any bottom contact baits.

My favorite thing to use the CCR for..... Free Rig. I've tried different rods of all kinds and this just gets it done for me.

Its also great for dragging a 3/8oz football jig. 1/2oz feels a little softer but not bad. I prefer to throw them on the MBR 904C or JWR 894C.
