Military Discount Megathread

Featured Replies

I couldn't find a thread that listed military discounts, so I'm starting one.

Tackle Warehouse - 10% (usually stacks with clearance but not sales, except Memorial Day)

6th Sense - 10% via GovX, 50/50 on stacking

BassPro/Cabela's - 10%. I don't use it because the prices there are always higher to start with. Not hating, just consistently the case.

GSM/Yamamoto/Dobyns/etc - via Guidefitter.com - specifically asks not to talk about the discount amount, but pretty easy to find it w/o signing up. It's the best deal I've seen on veteran discounts anywhere.

Huk - 10% via GovX, rarely stacks

Rapala - unknown % via Expertvoice

Copperstate Tackle - none

Omnia - none

Will update this as others post.

Cabela’s/Bass Pro is 10% everyday.
Rapala is on Expert Voice for a decent percentage off

Not a veteran, but just wanted to say thank you all for your service!

The biggies for me are Home Depot and Lowe’s, fishing purchases pale in comparison.

Have you checked bps recently? The prices definitely used to be higher but I compared a lot of prices to TW and it was actually lower at BPS. The thing I found is that they just don’t have the same selection as TW. Also, if you use your club member price which is 10% on Mondays, it stacks with the military discount.

Kastking 20% when you sign up through Govx.

Discount Tackle 10% need to sign up

FishUsa 10% need to sign up

another site 10% need to sign up

I am very happy to shop online at TW, Cabela's & BPS; all offer a 10% military discount.

Sometimes they will stack that on a sale price.

Sometimes they do not.

Scored 2 RE-ARMING KITS for my inflatable PFDs from TW.

(It was time)

They did stack the discounts there, so that was nice.

A convenient deal is the military discount, rarely if ever "excludes" anything.

So most times I don't even wait for sales.

The discount isn't a ton of cash, but it does cover or at least reduce the 2-day shipping,

which is my preferred choice.

YMMV

@A-Jay I just bought a Vanford (3000 size) for about $215 at BPS. They stacked the club price(currently 15%) with the military discount. It’s definitely not expected but what a nice perk, especially on shimano stuff which is oftentimes on the exclusion list.

What is Govx?

I know a lot of state parks and campgrounds give a veteran discount, national too.

If you ask real nice, I have gotten 50% off military discounts from Loomis/Shimano...

Simms gives a 15% discount I believe, and you can have it on top of other discounts...

It used to be you had to be a disabled Veteran, but these days, all Veterans get free entrance into any national parks, etc...

You just need to get a pass from the park service, it's good forever, hangs in your rear view mirror... It's especially nice when travelling to distant places to fish, free showers ;) I once spent a year living out of my truck in the PNW chasing steelhead up and down the coast, those free showers made it a much more pleasant experience lol Just make sure the park isn't closed for filming before entering in the middle of the night, I once was woke up in the middle of the film set for the Sandra Bullock movie "Bird Box", asking me to move so they could film, nice people, let me check out their food tent for free, they have some really great food on movie sets lol

GovX is just a service companies use to prove you are a Veteran, so they aren't giving out discounts to just anyone...

Thanks, I hadn’t heard of that one before.

I would like to thank every company that gives our military, veterans and first responders a discount.
