Old reels

Featured Replies

99% of my reels are spinning and my oldest is a Stradic FG 2000 (white model with the wood handle).  I believe I purchased it in 2000?  The majority of my spinning reels are "older" Stradic Ci4+.

Still in use….

Note this half-bail spinner has no type of anti-reverse  She honed the skill to land, handle, and release all her fish on her own.

Oh wow, that's incredible! Good for her

Here, she's fishing Powell Silver Creek IM6 and Marryat. Amazing when you take girls fishing - they never complain, never tie wind knots, never snag or break off - don't even fall in - unless the creek is too inviting in the summer heat.

They grew up with an appreciation for old tackle and old firearms (and hats)

I still use a 26 yo 5600C4 for punching. If I'm bringing in a bass and a lot of vegetation, I worry more about the rod breaking than the reel giving out.
