Starting with Power or Finesse?

I don’t/won’t “finesse” anything. I can’t stand droppin, neding, shakin or wackin!

Throwing small, skinny baits slow and deliberate on light line with a med to light spinning rod to catch a 1# fish makes me crazy.

If I were lucky enough to be on Lake Okeechobee, Florida this morning, I assure you, I too would not be finesse-fishing.

Yeah Buddy!

Depends where I start. If I'm on riprap I'll usually go finnese to get the day started with some bites. If I'm fishing cover the heavier stuff gets used.

What's finesse fishing? 😁😁

I generally start with a more subtle or finesse bait that can cover water, like a swimbait under 4"/finesse swim jig, wacky rig, or even a silent crank.

If the waters dirty or the conditions are right or the water is dirty, Ill start with a more aggressive bait on a wind blown corner/point or other structure/cover. If they don't get me bit within a half hour I'm going to go finesse in the same area.

I start with finesse then try some finesse. They quit biting power fishing baits here in the George H bush administration

Bro, I looked back on a thread I started last year about nightcrawlers, and you posted a big ol bronze back you caught on a jig and half crawler, so I'm testing my homegrown cornfed crawlers at a shallow pond tomorrow, with some big bass and shellcrackers in it

I saw some big bass chilling next to this drain pipe or whatever a few days ago but wouldnt bite anything I threw at em, but I've read on here that even the most wary bass can hit a live crawler, presented properly

90% of the time I start with a fluke of some type. I guess that would depend on how I rig it? Most of the time it will be weightless.

I try to read the conditions.... calm conditions, sunny conditions, slick water, and clear water I'll start finesse on the other hand if windy, dirty water, choppy water, etc I'll power fish... I never leave an area without throwing the other though...

Also - pressured fish I'll always start finesse..

I used to power fish nearly 100% of the time until I thought I was good and tried my hand at tournaments and got my butt handed to me.... Then I forced myself to learn to finesse fish..
