It was a semi-skunk morning for sure

It was partly sunny and zero breeze at ground level, but the clouds were zipping by. That lasted until I pushed off from shore. Ugh. Windy days are not my favorite. Oh well. I decided to channel my inner anti @TnRiver46 and start off with a white/chartreuse spinnerbait with a 3.5” paddletail trailer. Four casts in and had a decent 3-4 lb. bass on the line and lost it the first time it poked its head out of the water. Had a few poke at it but no real bites. Tried various baits with no bites except for a couple dinks or bluegills that hit a green pumpkin lizard TR. I later switched to a 4” #956 Senko TR and got another nice bass on the line and lost it as well. I don’t think either were actually hooked. Yeah, I’m going with that. All-in-all it was gorgeous out, save the wind and a lack of bass.

SEMI-SKUNK ... That's awesome! I'm stealing it!

So you shook off all the small fish, because you only wanted 5+ lbers. We understand.

Hey at least you had some action. Last couple times I. Went out here I’ve been skunked. Water is still very cold in Blacksburg. Hopefully when I go home this weekend I can get a couple bites.
