How Many Line Types/Weights Do You Use?

Featured Replies

20lb Power Pro braid on all my casting rods. A few have fluorocarbon leaders, 10, 12lb.

All my spinning rods have 10lb bright yellow Power Pro. Fluorocarbon leaders are 6, 8, 10, and 12lb.

Spinning: 6 & 8# xl (also used for leaders) 15# x-9 braid Baitcast: 12 & 14# xl, 50# x-9 braid

6lb mono for panfish, 15lb braid to 10lb leader for bass spinning combos, 15lb flouro for most casting setups, 50lb braid for punching and frogging, and 20lb mono for 8 inch baits and up or chunky 6 inch ones like the Bacca Burrito Shad.

50 lb braid for frogs and punching.

15 lb mono for jigs, T-rigs, and heavy moving baits.

10 lb mono for light moving baits, and unweighted plastics.

8 lb mono for finesse rigs in open water.

6 lb mono for the UL.

Tatsu 8 -12lb

InvisiX 6-8 lb

Braid multiple sizes and makes

Seaguar braid Smackdown 10 - 20 lb

Seaguar PEX8 18 and 21 lb

Power pro slick v2 10 lb

Mono Big Game

10 lb - 14 lb braid (YGK sinking braid) on all my spinning reels- 6 lb Gamma Edge leader line

30 lb braid- baitcasters- pitching plastics and jigs and powershotting

50 lb braid- baitcaster- frogs, C-rigs, football head jigs

15 lb fluorocarbon- pitching plastics, all around

15 lb P-Line Fluoroclear- bladed jigs, spinnerbaits

10 lb and 12 lb P-Line Fluoroclear- jerkbaits and crankbaits

15 lb Big Game- Topwater

The YGK, Gamma Edge, P-Line Fluoroclear, and Big Game are lines I have been using for years and have a lot of confidence in. For the 15 fluorocarbon I'll use whatever is on sale as long as it's Berkley 100%, P-Line, or Seaguar Abraizix- I don't really notice a difference between any of these. For heavier braid I'll go either Powerpro, Suffix, or Daiwa. Once again, I've used several of these and they all seem about the same.

For bass, 6 or 8 different lines. 6lb hybrid, 12lb nylon, 12lb fluoro, 30, 40, and 50lb braid. Im probably forgetting some.
