Is anyone use boat and recommend any of that two option? one of them connect to trailer and the other one hold the engine by itself. I have some fathers day gift card and I think it is r=the best thing I can get with it.

I have not used the Motor Mate but have used several similar devices. I’ve also used the trailer to motor type. I don’t like the trailer to motor for 2 reasons: it is a pain to use and it can wear the paint on the lower unit.

For the last 10 years I have been using Wedges. I like them better than any thing else that I have used.

I've towed trailers for over 50 years. I've used every type motor supports there are and never had a cracked transom. To me the only purpose a support provides is to keep the skeg off the pavement. Use the one you like.

The one I am currently using is a DD26. I really like that one. I've never tried the one Jigman posted. I'm not a fan of the trailer mount ones.

With a little searching, the comments both pro and con are as long as your arm.😂 Bottom line both work and it boils down to personal preference. I have used both and have good and bad about both. I will say my buddies Ranger had a habit of snapping the lower unit to trailer style no matter how snug he fitted it. I currently have a custom made wedge style made from aircraft quality solid aluminum and I am very satisfied with it.

I have used the Motor Mate for several years and completely satisfied with it. Quick and easy,

Started out using the trailer to lower unit monstrosity that came with the rig.

Never really had any problems with it, but it was a PIA to install and remove.

Been using this Transom Saver and Hydraulic Steering Lock Clips

from DD26, fishing for 5 years now.

At this point I have no plans to change from this system.

Clearly there are less expensive options available.

These deals were wildly overpriced when I bought them.

And like most everything, especially marine-related, the retail cost since then has virtually doubled.

Justifying the costs is a personal choice.

I also use the LEASH outboard motor safety system, which is a Precision Sonar product.

Thats the exact set up I have for the Motor in orange. Except no leash yet.
