Holiday Weekend Fishing

I went night fishing on the power plant lake. Not only dark outside, but there's no pleasure boats or jet skis allowed either. Wasn't a great night of fishing, but it wasn't terrible either. Decent number of fish, just none of the big ones the lake is known for. There was one other boat out fishing and a few boats out bowfishing, so it was busy for a normal night, but not busy at all for a holiday.

I also took my kids to a creek for a little bit. Caught a bunch of sunfish, several bass, a crappie, a catfish, and we all ended up in the creek. Not a single other person out there.

Severe storms the entire weekend kept everything like a ghost town around here.

Juliette is my favorite and by far the lake I fish the most. It does have plenty of Spotted bass, but if you want to target LM just fish the grass. The lake has plenty of LM and better quality than Tobesofkee. If you want the Spots fish open water and offshore. Just look at tournament weigh ins, 1st place at Tobe won't usually get you paid at Juliette.

I've also made my last trips to Flatcreek and Big Lazer.

Thanks for the information. I'll try and get to Juliette sometime soon. I'm going to be at Clark's Hill (Strom Thurmond Lake) the next three weekends where I will enjoy the morning topwater bite and then try to execute patience by fishing a drop shot.

That will be hard for me. I may have to bring only two rods to practice: One with a spook tied to it, and another with a drop shot and only bring drop shot baits and rigging with me. OK, maybe a shaky head setup as well.

Rumor has it the heat index will only be 104 this weekend.

Excellent. Careful out there, I've heard the weekend traffic is brutal.
