Even I will agree with that, and I have a different gang affiliation. :-[

The Curado with rebate is a great deal.  If you are are in the market for a Fenwick or All Star rod to go with your reel, then the Revo becomes a great deal with a $50 rebate as well.

That really is a nice reel.  In that price range I like the Sol as well.

"Quoted for Truth"... ::(

REVO-- This is coming from a proud member of the ABU posse.

Im not familiar with the Curado but i can suggest a REVO made by ABU GARCIA. Do i have to get jumped in or can i just join the posse?

Very close race between the Curado 100d and Daiwa TD Advantage 153HSTA, but the Curado gets the nod due to it's line capacity and weight.  I just have never needed significant line capacity and the Curado 100 holds the perfect amount of line IMHO.  The Curado 100 is also very light for an aluminum framed reel.  The Curado 100 puts up a good argument against going with the mg50 as well.

Abu Garcia Revo.  :(

Which ever Garcia is available at your price point. Don't listen to these Shimano and Diawa  people, they crazy

REVO!!!

As with almost all "what's the best" questions posted in this section, it comes down to personal preference.

At a $200 and under price point, you have a lot of high quality options. Shimano, Diawa, Abu, and Pflueger all have a nice product line.

My personal choice would be the Curado with the rebate.

I have around 15 Curados, some old green ones and some newer models. The Curado has stood the test of time from a quality and durability standpoint, and I am very comfortable with them. If you go Shimano, I would strongly consider the 100 size. They are lighter and fit my hand a lot better than the 200 size. Line capcity is fine for me on the 100's.

Go pick up a few, and see what feels better to you.

I agree . . . . but regarding the Curado with the rebate, like the Kool-Aid man says, "Oh yeah!"

Absolutely!!!

With the rebate the Curado. If internal brakes is an issue there are plenty of other options listed above with external braking. At the price point there are a lot of nice reels, just depends what you like.

I've got several Daiwa DTA 153HSTs and they're just great reels.
