New Legend Tournament - Reel suggestion

Featured Replies

I just got a new St. Croix Legend Tourney 6'6" MHF casting rod.  I want to use this rod for mainly jigs.  I would like to put a $200 - $250 reel with it.  Any suggestions?

y'all are making this an easy choice!!  i've never owned a daiwa.   :-[

Zillion ;)

Let me think about this one for a second! Ok Zillion or a Zillion how about a Zillion on second thought a Zillion. :)

PS  You know if you buy a Daiwa the bait monkey will jump all over your a__ and you will be replacing all you reels to Daiwa.  Zillion casting and Sol spinning!!! ;D ;D

Deeper water....Zillion Not so deeper water...TD-Z.

Love that Zillion. Rock solid, feels great in the hand, and very pleasing to the eye. Love that swept handle.....

If you go for the Zillion, and this rod is for casting jigs, I'd go with the 100HA/HLA.  It's still very fast with 28 IPT.  If this is more of a pitching rod, I'd go with the 100SHA/SHLA.  Super fast at 31.6 IPT

any one say ZILLION ??? ok id say the ZILLION  ;)

not one vote for the Quantum Tour Edition PT????  These seem to be so popular among the pros that I was leaning towards it.

Quantum makes nice reels but I've had problems with them. I've never fished the tour edition baitcaster but i've fished alot of the other reels and they seem to tear up or come out of the box messed up. Thats why I've switched to shimano reels. Alot of pros use them but they also sponsor alot of pros. Shimano doesn't sponsor any besides a few of the Jap. pros. I think if shimano did then you would see alot of pros start fishing shimano.

Shimano doesn't sponser american pros?  what's up with that?  are you sure about that?

Surprised no one has mentioned the Zillion? I will though. Great reel. Even know a couple  of die hard Shimano guys that secretly like the Zillion
