I'm in the market for a spinning rod for weightless 6" senkos. What do you guys like?

I like to use a 6'6" med/fast one piece

I am partial to

Fenwick HMX

Cabelas Tournament-IM7

I usually throw 5" senkos, but this is what I use:

Fenwick Techna AV 6' 6" MH Fast

Cabela's XMLTi Jig n Worm Rod 6' 6" MH Fast

I like a 6' 6" MH Fast rod for senkos ;D

Edit- Sorry,I didn't pay attention. The rods I listed are casting, I almost always throw my plastics on those two rods.

For spinning, I think my St Croix 7' M Fast Premier would do a fine job.

Just curious why you prefer throwing 6" senkos on a spinning rig?

By no means is there anything wrong with it, I did it for a while, but also keep in mind a 6" Senko is plenty heavy to be throwing it with bait casting gear.

Not trying to change your mind, you may be totally set on spinning, just thought I'd throw that out there.

 I'd definitely be using a MH or H rod for 6" Senkos.

i havent used mine yet but it seems like a great rod for senkos, light jigs, light t-rigs, dropshot and shakey jig. maybe using the word finesse would have summed that up. do a search on here and on tackletour forums for that rod.

I used to fish senko's on an All Star Titanium Wacky Worm special baitcasting rod but the action of that rod,  6'9", Mhvy Moderate, kinda made that rod a one method Pete rig.

I've switched back to spinning and now use an All Star Platinum Wacky Worm special spinning rod. P815SWW.  6'9" Med/fast.  the action is slightly slower than the "fast" indicated.  Like it alot and I can use it for more applications than just senko's.  

If going the Medium power route, make sure you are confident that the rod is stiff enough to set the hook for your style of fishing.  My favorite MF spinning rod is great all-around, but (for me) it has a bit too much flex for bottom techniques.  A medium fast rating is not consistent across manufacturers.  A few MH rods have lure ratings down to 3/16 and even 1/4 oz may work with a 6" Senko.

I have a Daiwa TD Tierra 6'6 med-lite 1 piece,that works very well for me.

With a 6" Senko, I'd go with at least a MH rod. Check out these: G Loomis BSR803; Loomis SJR783; St. Croix AVS66MHF; St. Croix LES66MHF; Powell 684 MHXF.

All of these rods are under 7'0".  I went with these because the lengths seem to be most common amongst fishermen.  All of the manufacturers above make a 7'0" MH spin rod as well.

To answer brokeju I fish everything on spinning rods all the way up to Trophy fly-in pike. I fish 90 percent with plastic. Lake Okeechobee in the winter[bass] and Lake Champlain May to Oct [bass or pike]. All in shallow water.

Equipment various cabala's XML rods ,or Loomis rods/ Shimano Stradic 2500FIs or Stradic 4000FIs/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 #8, or #10 mono/ Gamakatsu 3/0 or 5/0 EWG Hooks.

I am leaning towards a St Croix Avid looking for recommendations.

The spinning model, in that length and action, is a little softer. I have two of those; or I did until Mrs Ghoti appropriated them. I would say that a 6" Senko would be pushing the upper end of the bait weight range for that rod.

I throw mostly 4" & 5" wacky rigged senkos on a G. Loomis IMX 783 6"6" mh or 843 7' mh.  I prefer a mh over a medium action.  I would think with a 6" senko you would want a mh.

It seems like most of these recommendations are for your standard 4 or 5" Senko.  The 6" is a totally different animal.  It's a big bait...a 6/0 hook bait.  I generally pitch them to cover with a heavy action rod.  

I fish mine on a 703 Powell MH/EF on a baitcaster. If I was to go with a spinning rod Id go with a StCroix 7' Avid MF. Thats what my Bro has on the boat and I have one in a ML and they are great. My favorites. I also own a Gloomis rod and Shimano Crucial which I really like but Id get the Avid.  8-) :
