I'm looking to get a few squarebill crankbaits for this comming season but don't know which baits to get.  I a have 20 some Original Big O's from Cabelas that I fish with but only two of them consistently catch fish.  Instead of wasting money on wood baits to find the few that work I'm looking at hard plastic.  So I was wondering what your guyz favorite square bills are and y. I'm currently looking at Lucky Craft RC's and BDS, and Spro Little John.  Other's though will be helpful.  

My favorite square bill crank is the LC RC 1.5. I like them because they deflect off cover really well, have great paint jobs, Always run true right out of the box, and just flat out catch fish.

I recently bought my first BDS series lure, and I'm going to test it out in some muddy water conditions this spring to see how it performs.

Bagley Balsa B2, runs great out of the package, and never gets hung up on cover.

My favorite squarebilled crankbait is a luckycraft BDS 4. I like it because it has nice a wide wobble for warmer water and enough weight to cast it far. I also like the rapala dt flat series for a tighter wobbling crank in colder water conditions.

bomber balsa b .... i like the bigger profile of the bait and the crazy wobble drives bass wild ....

kb here    you guy talking about the crankbaits running true out of box the artical in  bassin says not to bend front line tie but to file the plastic  bill on one side or the other.  never tryed this but i will   kb

My favorite is the Bomber Square A.  

Why-If I am using a square bill crank, I am usually fishing wood or rocks and bouncing it off everything I can. With that being said, I lose a lote of cranks.  When the Square A is on sale, it can be found for less than 3 bucks....I don't feel as bad losing $3 cranks as opposed to more expensive(but would say better) cranks.  And the second reason-I have caught a LOT of bass of this bait.  Never pulled in a hawg with one, but the #'s are there.

+1.  Square As are fantastic baits.  

I also would put a plug in for the Rapala DT Fat (dives 0-3).  It's balsa.  

I've been trying to find some Poes RC1's without much success.  

There are several different ones that I depend on. One of my favorites is the Bagley's BB2, another is the WEC E2. The Bomber Model B's have done well, the LC Fat BDS and RC cranks are good ones too. I expect the Rapala Fat DT's will be killers as well.

Oh yeah, almost forgot....Mann's Baby 1-...great bait around fallen brush.

The new Dt fat performs really well.My fav now.

I like the Lucky Craft BDS 2 and 3 in any of the Ghost colors.

I'm looking at hard plastic.  So I was wondering what your guyz favorite square bills are and y. I'm currently looking at Lucky Craft RC's and BDS, and Spro Little John.  Other's though will be helpful.  

You'll be happy with the LC's - - they flat out work.   Jackall MC/60, Imakatsu IK-50, and OSP Blitz are some other good little square billed fat plastic cranks - but if you don't want to track them down, you'll be just as happy with the LC's.  

For something small and inexpensive, the Bandit 100 is a fine little crank as well.....I like it better than the Bomber Square A.   Along the same lines, the little Luhr-Jensen Speed Traps are fish catchers....really tight action, they're good when you need something a little more subtle.        

The LC RC 1.5 is a staple, no doubt.....it just works and and it's widely available.  If I could only have 1 plastic square-billed crank - it would be this one.   For muddy water, I prefer the BDS 2 or 3.  

If you decide to consider trying any more wooden cranks.....this forum's own Big M can hook you up with some killer baits - - you can go to the Tacklemaking section and check out some of his cranks.  I've been extremely pleased with every crank I've ever gotten from him.        

The Spro Little John is more of a flatsided crank, and isn't square-billed.....as well I understand it has a very low buoyancy, making it less suitable for cover crashing endeavors like I assume you want these square billed cranks for.  

If you want to go the finesse flatsided route (and I highly suggest you give it a try... ),  I would definitely go with Marty.   He makes some killer balsa flats that have excellent buoyancy and negotiate cover very well.

I'll just go ahead and +1 that post.  B2's, BDS 2's, RC 1.5 & 2.5's, and H&T HT 1's and 2's.  The Zoom wobbler is one of my killer baits as well.  I purchased some Rapala Flat DT3's and Fat DT3's as well, but haven't fished them.  My Bomber model B's have gotten little use...glad to hear they are producing (MAN do they ever have an exaggerated side-to-side wobble!).  Really I've got too many I throw to list, but those are some staples.  I need to order some of the WEC E2's in Turquoise bream...been meaning to do that for a while.  I have no doubt they will perform as well as my other WEC's.  

The DT FLAT does come through cover sort of well, but it is not a very bouyant bait and floats up very slow.It doesnt kick to the side like a square either,not made to. It Is killer for rock bashing.

LC RC 1.5 was my #1 fish producing crank last year.

Thanx for all the help quyz!  U've all been a real help with this. Keep them comming if u come up with more! Glad to hear all the sides of the stories and reasons why.

Mine is a Bagley B3 in Black and Chartreuse, dive 1-4 feet. The one I have has two line ties one high, and one low, each one with a dramatically different wobbling action.  I tore up some lakes and ponds this summer.  

Runner up would be the Bagley B2 in the same color.  Also with 2 line ties...

I caught my PB largemouth on a Norman Fat Boy. I also like the Bomber Square A. I bought several of the Lucky Craft RC 2.5 & 3.5 on sale last year during the BPS Fishing Classic (spring sale), but I haven't actually gotten around to fishing them!
