Seagur Invisx - I was fishing the other day with my bro and he was using the above stated fluorocarbon and had 3 knots either break or come undone.  He was using the Trilene Knot - double loop through the eye / five twists / and back through the loop / cinch tight.  Good knot for fluro or any recommendations on a better knot - palomar was knot an option. (lol) Thanks.

I use either the Palomar or the New Improved Reversed Clinch Knot.

Any one else have a problem with the trilene knot and fluoro? 

Seagar AbrazX had have some issues with palomar and trilene. Still use trilene, i just retie more.

I noticed with the trilene knot and flouro, you have to pay attention more when you cinch the knot down. I always check by pulling the tag end and the main line.

Oh I always make the tag end long enough so I can wrap it around my finger at least once to pull the line.

I usually tie a trilene knot, and have noticed over the years that failures were due to the knot not being cinched all the way down correctly. Hence when it comes back to you all pig tailed.

I fish with Invisx..I use a palomar knot for everything..never had a problem yet..the line needs to be wet, as not to burn it, cinch it down well, and your good to go..

I've been using invisx as well and have had a lot of problems with break-offs with the palomar knot.  just learned the  sandiego jam knot and the break-offs are now a thing of the past.  not an easy knot to tie but it works.

i'm using the 15# and it was with 1/2 oz jigs.  aven't had the problem since though. invisx has been the best flouro that i've used yet

Any hook with a bent eye, I snell.  Otherwise, a Palomar or Uni knot has worked well.  Been also testing out the Eugene knot.  Alaskan steelheaders use it, so it must be pretty strong.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  If the fish-n-fool knot beat the palomar in knot wars then I'm going with that.  I tied it twice yesterday, and it wasn't too difficult to do.  Will give it a run on the water today.

I had the exact same issues.  San Diego Jam is jammin' mon. I use it on every type of hook or lure except for drop shot.

I recently got turned on to the san diego ram knot, which is more or less a reverse improved clinch knot.

The key to good knots with flourocarbon is to wet the knot before clinching it. It's the heat generated by a 'dry' knot that causes most failures.

P-Line 100% Pure Fluorocarbon. I use the Improved clinch knot and have never had a problem in 5+ years. Are you wetting the line before you cinch it tight? That is a must.
