trailers

Featured Replies

what type of trailer do you guys like on your jigs and spinnerbaits?

On a jig I like somthing with wider tails/arms like the Zoom Super Chunk. All of te Paca baits would be similar to that look too.

Double tail grubs or sweet beavers for jigs.

Split tail trailers for spinner baits and chatter baits

On jigs I use 3 sizes of craws, single tail grubs, double tail grubs, hula grubs, beavers, and different sizes of chunks.

On spinnerbaits I like a trailer hook. ;)

Paca craws, or grubs and on small jigs I like the Zoom swimming chunk or a baby Paca chunk.

Jigs: Eakins Pro Craw

Spinnerbaits: none

jigs: paca craws yum chunks uncle josh pork

spinnerbaits: calins grubs and scrubs power grubs black worms with white tail

This may be the stupidest question ever, do you split that tail on the sweet beaver or leave it attached when using it as a trailer?

I fail to see the stupidity :-?

In my opinion, I believe that slitting the tail will give you more action,

but leaving the tail intact may give you more vibration (thump) but it really depends on how you work it.

Thanks ROLO I have had moderate success leaving it intact, I'm going to split it and see how I like it.

Zoom Chunk on jigs

Nothing on spinnerbaits

Zoom chunks a gift from God....I hated jigs just because of that stupid pork trailer!!! Now I fish then all the time

On jigs I use Net Bait Paca Craws and Chunks.

On spinnerbaits, simple split tail trailers or the tail section of a Culprit worm.

Prog

On jigs i usually use a zoom super chunk, a zoom big salty chunk or a strike king 3x chunk.

I've never used trailers for spinnerbaits.

has anyone ever used the zoom swimming chunk, it looks pretty good

The new Rage Tail Chunk or pinched Rage Tail Craw by Strike King are my favorite jig trailers. They are winning alot of money in the tournaments and they have better action than any I've seen.  I also like the fact that the arms and claws stay on better than others.

I use Paca Craws most of the time.  They have great action and plenty of color choices - they just tear to easily.

Occasionaly will use Zoom - especially the ultra vibe trailer for swimming a jig.

I've got some Strike King trailers - don't use them much.  I bought some of the Rage tails this winter - haven't tried them yet.  I'm hoping for similar movement to a Paca Craw but with better durability.  The color choices aren't great though.

I also have some twin tail Chompers trailers.  Use them with football jigs.  Good colors, durability, and scent.

On spinnerbaits I use a Zoom fin-s-fish as a trailer with some luck.

Can't remember what trailers I have for a jig.Don't fish it often enough but hope to change that this year.
