any one been on Wyco lately?   Water is pretty murky and junk floating all over.  Is it in Turnover?

I was there yesterday. Water temp was 71. Water might be stirring around from temp change, but I don't think it actually turns over until the surface temp gets in the 50s. Weeds are starting to die and the bite was pretty slow.

  • Watched the trout stocking at Wyco this afternoon.  There were some nice sized ones came out of that chute.

  • I fished the Dotte Saturday with my son and his buddy we caught crappie at the dam on ned rigs drifting in 25 to 30 feet of water, they where stacked up from 30 feet to 15 feet deep for about 150 yard

  • Well, it kind of does not help the fisheries when there has not been any kind of fish sampling for maybe 5-6 years.  Since the county going back to its permits, the state does not want to get involved

Someone was telling me there is an old large piece of earth moving equipment at the bottom of the lake and you can see the top of it when the water is low. Can anyone confirm?

Only thing I am aware of,  is on the south side of Wilson cove a little west of the first small cove. It looks like some type of large conveyor on my mega imaging. I was told it was a rock crusher. I have never seen it without sonar. It is in pretty deep water. I think it is in around 30 feet of water. Crappie fishermen anchor around it in summer.

Sounds like something to put the Mega 360 to work!

A few years ago when we were in drought conditions and the lake was very low the rock crusher was only about 6 ft below the surface,  You could see it then as the water was very clear at the time.

I was there Saturday morning with my oldest son.

That's what I was thinking looking at the lake. Water temps were low 70's and lots of suspended particles clouding the water. Bite was pretty slow, even when I let him dropshot live night crawlers.

Water temp 73 today. 2-3 foot visibility (muddy compared to what I’ve seen previously).

Hooked into two nice ones at the boat ramp and both of them flipped off before getting a good look because it was dark. One was a really rod bender on a big heavy action swimbait rod.

Only managed to get a few dinks in the boat and one more nice follower strike and miss at the boat.

Was it muddy or cloudy? It was almost kind of chalky looking Saturday. I could see all the tiny particles suspended in the water that were cutting down visibility, which is what had me thinking it was starting to turn.

You’re right, muddy wasn’t the right word.

That may not be the case now though after the rain.
