There are about 4 bedding Largemouth Bass right in front of Denny's Shop.  When I get the chance to, I will go check them out.  Well, yesterday (04-25-2015) Denny advised me, someone had thrown 2 large rocks (10-15 pound range) right onto this about 3-3.5 pounders bed.  Sure enough, 2 large boulders on this bass's bed.  The bass was still hanging around the bed, but if it had eggs, I dont know if they would have survived that.  I dont know, but that seriously irritated me.

Probably the same kind of people that complain about us hurting the fish when we hook them   I've heard there's been some nice fish, largemouth and smallmouth being caught out there this spring, makes me miss fishing it a little. 

Smallmouth bite was great Tuesday on Wyco.  No hawgs but quantity was good.  Largest I caught was 16 inches most were 13 to 14,  still had a fun day fighting those brown fish.

Jon had an outstanding day there this past week with over 50 fish and 9 keeper largemouth. No monsters but a terrific day for the Dotte. My dad has been catching some good fish out there, and he's not really a "bass fisherman".

Wyco was HOT this morning !!!   fished from 7:30 to 11:00 and caught 35-40 bass.  Most Wyco average size of 12 to 14 but did have 5 keeper LM.  Smallmouth were hammering pop-Rs and LM hungered for the Ned.   Lots of fish had the 17 year bugs in their craw.

Still HOT today!!    Average WYCO size but quantity was awesome.  And it is close to home.

So if I'm shore fishing do you think I can punch that thick grass? Been to windy to take the kayak out and I'm boatless

Probably be tough reeling in dragging tackle through it, even tougher dragging a fish.

Yeah that's what I thought. Had a small one get wrapped in the grass and I had to pull it in by hand must of been 7 pounds of grass stuck to that little bass.

How are you fishing the ned rig?  I have yet to have very good success with it.

Depends on how the fish want it presented.  Sometimes work it like a shaky head other times slow retrieve, or maybe pop it and let it fall kinda like a jerk bait.

Morning bite was fair today, nothing really spectacular several 12 - 14 inch small mouth.  Did manage one at 1.8#. close to 2#. 

  

 

 

Tournament tonight? If so, what time and how much?

It used to start at 6 and was 30 per boat.

Got a couple keeper LMB this morning.

Yes, they wee a little thin.  Several hook marks on lips guess too much exercise.

From all talk I've heard about wyco, still a good fish.

Actually Wyco has been fairly decent this year.  I have caught several smallmouth over 2#.  And usually at least one LMB at 15 to 16 each time I go.

That's the way it works every time until you fish on Wednesday night.
