Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Thanks!

Nope, not in a tourney.  Just fun fishing, and weighing the bigger fish we were catching.

Anyone know if the curly-leaf pondweed at Miami County Lake has begun to die off? Wondering if it's fishable right now.

I don’t know about that lake, but the curly pond leaf is almost gone and coontail coming in at some other local lakes

Over a month and no posts. Fishing crazy god right now with this very steady weather pattern. It’s a bout to cool off so will probably slow them down or change them up a bit.6B26E735-2193-495A-A186-FD8710B19D7E.jpeg60DBB826-4BCB-4042-9EAD-AC60D15008C2.jpegD47D2E8D-5FA8-4D03-8CB5-089E9F11FC05.jpeg7D200468-AEB0-4EB4-9E3D-BE07E7800293.jpeg

Couldn't tell you when the last fish I've seen over 5 pounds was, probably April I think. Not being able to afford to drive to lakes that hold big fish pretty much has made this fishing season suck.

Let’s go sometime. I’ll pay for gas. Your rig or mine. You can choose the lake(s).

didn’t have to drive that far at all for these fish tho ;)

I have weekends off now. My depthfinders don't work on the boat anymore except for the GPS feature so if that's important ?‍♂️

I work every other Saturday until October 1. So I’m down whenever. We can decide who’s rig to take the day of or before. Mine has all the bells and whistles (which I have learned to really increase my big fish catches)… it’s just on the smaller side.

Pretty use to fishing out of my kayak at this point, a small boat feels pretty big to fish out of ?

What lakes do you drive out to that give you better results and are any doable in a kayak? I've been having awful luck at Longview Lake and some ponds around it, and feel like I need to explore some other areas.

Most all the lakes around here can provide good numbers, it's the bigger fish that have been harder to find lately. I did finally get a couple big ones Sunday though.

Almost all my fishing is out of a kayak anymore.

Man the shoulders on that 21 incher are gargantuan. That's a potential 8lb class fish in the spring.

Both could have been much heavier but I'm not sure if they ever really get very fat in that lake. Only the second time I've ever fished it, so don't know much about it. It did have shad though, so they should get a little fatter later in the year.

The musculature on that 21” fish would suggest they do get heavier.

Got a problem with axle on my Ranger trailer where in KC is a good reasonable priced shop to see about getting some work on it done?

Hey y’all! Have you noticed a change on your lakes, maybe from summer lures and presentations to fall ones? Couple weeks ago on Watkins Mill bass were starting to pull off deeper cover and corral baitfish in both open, deeper water and shallow. May start throwing lipless, spinnerbaits and top waters more often now.

Any tips about which ramps to use or underwater hazards at Melvern?

Going out there on Sunday against my better judgement (windy).

I use Eisenhower (state park, ramp closest to the dam). Not too many underwater obstructions to worry about that aren't marked by buoys. The points going out into the lake from Eisenhower are shallow, so don't cut those close. There is a really shallow shelf that runs out a ways from the south of Eisenhower campgrounds but it's another spot you shouldn't be running that close to shore anyways.

Bite was really tough two weeks ago but I had the family with me so I didn't try real hard for smallmouth and got on the deep whites and walleye pretty good and stuck with them the whole time.

I normally use the COE ramp close to the Marina.  It cost unless you have the COE sticker.  there are some shallow and rocky areas around there so be cautious.

Caught a lot drum and got distracted by some crappie. The hunt for some Kansas smallmouth continues.

I caught a lot of little largemouth and spots Sunday. Kept losing the bigger fish every time I hooked them. Only put one bigger one in the boat.
