I went out this past Wednesday during my lunch break at work to a local pond in Bolingbrook and was able to land this pig:

Nice fish guys and last time out got one at a small lake/pond near Morraine Valley college that went 1 lb and have to post pics later.

Man..i cannot even tell you for sure when the last time i fished illinois water was. Probably early 2010.

The top one I caught on a BPS Lazer Eye Nitro The Egg in chrome shad. The most recent one, I caught on a Live Target Bluegill crankbait. I know you have not had luck with your's, but I was having the same bad luck. I started using it again and I am getting better results with it now.

Well fellow BR members I have moved to Michigan so guess I can't post on this thread anymore unless I come back down that way to fish.

You can add me to the IL clan. McHenry County, hour NW of Chicago, almost WI. It is rather odd that we are not part of the central listing. But it doesn't matter much. How's it going?

Also, I am itching to fish. And as the weather is not conducive to ice fishing, is it a waste of time to throw some lines out now? I know very little about fishing, and really just starting to get into it. I know the cold weather forces them deep, but would I catch anything shore fishing this time of year?

Still find it odd to go to the Northeast section- Grew up here thinking we were in the central, or at least...cough cough mid-west.

Anyhow, water is looking really good the few times I have been out- too windy this year is they only problem. Makes it a bit tough to dead stick or drag a jig when my boat is coasting along at 6mph with the wind blowing 25+

Fish have been fat though. Have fun out there, and be safe.

Non power plant lake- water around 46 at the dam, 48 at the shallow northern end. Caught 8 fish in the 3 pound range on Saturday. Structure close to deep water on lipless crank worked slow.

Haven't been bass fishing much. We have been hammering the crappie the past few weeks. At this rate I'm going have one helluva fish fry

I worked on the boat today but my son got out with some friends for a couple hours on the Fox River. Caught this big girl on a Havoc crayfish bait.

Non powerplant lake in central il now was at 65- really cannot believe we have these water temps. Bass still staging though- biteing hard.

Tight lines in Rockford, bass, gill on worms, jigs all shallow.

The bite has been on here the last 2 days, between my fiancee, my kids, and my friends fiancee, they have caught over 120 cleanable gills, My buddy and I have caught probably just as many bass. Will post pics later. Right now I need a nap due to cleaning fish

Was out this weekend fishing from shore, lots bites on plastics landed a few small large mouths. Lots of people were out. Hoping to hit it hard this weekend again.

Caught a decent Northern on Sunday using rooster tails while fishing for bass. 18 or so inches
