I got out today nothing hit til the rain started and that was the switch that needed to be turned. It only rained for about 20 minutes and then sun came out. I was getting hit left and right. I got this one that looks to have escaped the teeth of a pike and a nice one on a senko. All hits were off the bottom nothing going after my moving baits

I was able to sneak out the other night after getting the kids to sleep and ran into a new PB! 6lbs 3oz at a little lake by my house. I found an offshore weedline in about 10ft of water on my portable

Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

Hang in there my friend

It's bad...I've got the neighborhood garage sale tomorrow and Sunday pre-football I will hopefully be out on the water. I purposely don't fish on holiday weekends and the week before ended up doing some small fixes on the Lund. Had some issues with the Max-Air intake on the livewell. Rather than injecting air into the livewell it was regurgitating water onto the floor of the boat. I bought a new fitting from TH Marine, broke it while installing it and ordered another one. Got it in. Still hasn't seen the water yet so hopefully it doesn't leak.

I right there with ya - I've been Mr. Landscaper for the past week and still have at least two more full days of it ahead of me -

I'll be looking to get out next week as soon as possible -

Hope your repair holds up.

Bastages....:D

I haven't been out in a couple of weeks either. Boat was in the shop and piked it up Thursday. Going to Powers Lake this Sunday. Hopefully the boat will have no issues. I'll let you guys know how we do later tomorrow.

Was out Tuesday morning and Wednesday, a2.5 square bill in sexy shad was the ticket, in the afternoon.

Have never thrown that bait much. Nothing else was working, I mean nothing. Only had 1 keeper, several shorts, funny how 1 short fish can change your mindset. It's amazing how finicky I am with "confidence" baits. This will probably be my new go to bait! Guess I need another day like that for spinnerbait s !!

Did the bluegill thing again today. Bite was pretty good although not as good as my last few trips. Kept enough for a meal. Biggest today 9 1/2" Weather permitting, I might be sick on Tuesday. Texted the boss giving him the heads up. Kings are making their way into Wisconsin harbors. Tuesday early morning looks ideal right now if the rain will hold out.

Your an alright guy, giving the boss a heads up like that! Now, was that the work boss, or the real boss?!?

Work boss. We're starting to slow down. They're pretty lenient where I work. Real boss is going with if I can drag her out of bed at 3:00am

I'd be in the obituary if I tried to drag her out of bed at 0300!

Well Powers Lake report on Sunday. We got 3 bass and one northern pike in 4 hours of fishing. All bass were small, the biggest being 14". Northern was 22". I was more concerned about running the outboard, to make sure the repair was done. It worked fine. Off to Delavan or Geneva this weekend.

Had a great day, numbers-wise, at Braidwood today.  Could only fish till noon but I put a lot of fish in the boat.  Nothing bigger than 16" but it was constant action.  Surprised at how many bass fishermen were out there.  In the past, September was a quiet time on the lake but today seemed closer to a March day than late September.  Water was 86-88 degrees where I was fishing.  Wish that place stayed open all year long.

Hit Long Lake this morning. Bite was decent from 6:00-10:00 and then completely died. Water still warm 70* and there's an awful lot of dead vegetation on the bottom. Think I caught 10 all in the 14-16" range up shallow. After 10:00 I tried deep water off the main point and was marking fish suspended 8ft down in 15fow. Tried throwing Strike King Bonsai Shad with no takers.

Sangchris here in Central Illinois is picking up. Shad are spawning and the fish are hitting reaction baits! :D

One of our lakes was recently opened up for non-motorized boats. They've been putting the hurt on the fish! I'm waiting to see how many are out there when trout season opens .

Since the east winds kept me off the big lake again I went to Braidwood for the 2nd weekend in a row.  A lot of guys were out there.  Hit the parking lot at 6 AM and I couldn't even get to the launch so I drove to the other launch.

Temps dropped from 86 to to around 75 in 1 week.  Couldn't fish the spots I caught so many fish at last week since there were 3-4 boats just camped out on the spots.  So I worked a bunch of new stuff and caught a couple 17" bass and a bunch of smaller fish.  Feel pretty confident I could have grinded out a limit if I stuck to the most productive areas but I was just fun fishing and was looking at some new spots.  A bunch of different finesse stuff did the damage mostly dropshot and a 4" senko.  One more weekend out there for this season.

Silver lake yesterday. Caught more of those lil ones than ever before. Had several 1.5-2#. one at 3.5#, and the beast at 5#. Also an 11" crappie. All but one on a broken back rapala in firetiger. Had one 2# on a 10" worm, while teaching myself to pitch keeping reel in left hand, I'm right handed. Only had one after lunch. That's also when the showers stopped.

5#

lil bit

Three days in a row without a bite down here. Weather changed and they got lockjaw. Shad popping all over the lake. Tried finesse, spinners, tops, worms, flukes, jigs and a few other things. NOTHING!

Ignored a sign from God and went fishing. Last night, there was a skunk on my back patio. I went 0 for 4 on Long Lake and my son went 3 for 6 this morning. Water temp dropped 7 degrees since last Sunday. He caught his first one on his 4th cast and I made the comment "It's going to be a good day today". I jinxed us

On Powers I've only caught one bass over 5lb. and I swear I've caught her twice. both times off the same hump.  I'm heading out to Delavan this Sat. If you see me, give me a shout I can help you get skunked too.

Lot of small fish on Powers however if you want to try to learn how to fish jigs, than the small fish will teach you and keep you busy. Biggest fish we got out of there was 3.9 lbs my wife got last year. Other than that, that lake will always produce fish. They are either on the hump in the middle of the lake, the inside bay of the big point when you are heading out, or along the buoys by the sand bar working the whole length of the lake. that is where I find all of my fish.

Well went out to Geneva this weekend Sunday to be exact. My friend and I boated 20 fish in 8 hours. Crappy weather but the fishing was fantastic.  The 5 biggest fish were (1) at 3.6 lbs (3) over 4 lbs and 1 at 5.2 lbs. All the others were between 12 and 16".  All were caught on jigs and rattle traps.
