on average, I try to keep it to under $10 but I will get the occasional $15 LC. I would probably pay up to $25 if I saw something that I really really liked.

Whatever I paid for my 3:16 Wake Jr.  I am pretty sure that's the most I've spent on a lure.

18.99 for a LC jerkbait. I was not happy about it, but d**n if it doesn't produce! I want some huddleston shads, but even 2 for 16 bucks plus shipping, I'm a little hesitant. We'll see though.  8-)

$5-6 bucks TOPS!!!,  The fish cant tell the difference!  I love those cheap $1 walmart spinnerbaits.  And worms by the pound at the fishing shows.  

I have found that I catch alot more fish with a bait that I could care less if lost.   Toss it in the nastiest stuff I can find and catch alot more big fish than others trying not to lose that $20 crankbait!

Maybe somewhere with super clear water would be different, but stained is clear as most of the water gets around here.

Another thing, the cheap($50-60) reels hold up as well as the $150-200 ones too.

I've got two serious problems that limit my spending ceiling.  First I am a cheapskate.  Second I am really, really good at getting hung up and losing lures.  It would really bust my budget to be losing lures that cost $20 or $30 or more.  So I try to stay under $10.  As much under as possible.

I have spent up to $30 on some the Megabass cranks. Quality components especially the hook. However, I still use other other cranks such as the DD22.

The Lucky Craft pointer is one lure that is worth every penny of $16 and should be in every anglers tacklebox. I am completely sold on this lure. It will produce bass even in the toughest winter conditions.

I really don't have an answer for this.  I haven't really got into the swimbait craze yet, but if I do I guess I would be willing to spend 20 - 50 dollars on them.  That would seem to be the range for a lot of them that I see on the Tackle Warehouse website.  I can't see myself spending much more than that.  For most of my lures I rarely go over 8 bucks, except for a few Lucky Craft baits.

Like LBH said in an earlier post, I don't buy anything to impress anyone, but I would assume that a lot of you are the same.  If I thought a lure was exceptional and would give me a leg up, I might be willing to pay a little more for it.  I haven't really seen a lure that is that far above the others though.

Yeah so which of your reels last as long as the old curados? :\The way you talk I can't figure out if you have a 150 to 200 dollar reel. Not to sound like a bum, but it's statements like that which bug the hell out of me. To tell you the truth I haven't been around long enough to tell a good answer to that yet, i hope others chime in.

No need to spend more than the price of a package of Brush Hogs...Thats what catches em the most... ;D  I could have 100 LC's still won't out catch the HOG!   ;D

Rapalas are the most expensive bait I can bring myself to buy. 4 to 10 bucks for most of their offerings at Wally World. I prefer plastics and jigs so having a huge selection of cranks isn't that important to me anyway. I have a couple dozen that do the job when I throw them and I'm sure I'm missing out on something but I'm happy and guilt free...almost.  :-X

I bought a diawa that was $170 about 8-10 years ago. I have no idea which model it was. Super duper with 100 ball bearings(or 6, alot back then) and the (still kinda new) infinite ar. POS locked up after only two weeks. The cheap ones aren't as smooth, but have served me well with a avg life of about three or four years.

I do tend to spend a little more on spinning reels, still just around $60-80. I only have two spinning reels and feel that you actually get a little more for your money on them. I have 4 baitcasting reels that are all under $60 and think they all perform well enough for the purpose they serve.

I guess I would be willing to pay whatever it costs to catch fish like fourbizz, Supermat and Fish Chris have been posting lately. If you really think your $5 swimbait is "just as good" as the lures those guys are throwing, you need to take another look at their pics and compare them to yours.

I have to second that.  That run of 30 and 40 lb plus sacks that fourbizz has going on would up the ante on what I would spend to catch fish like that.
