What is your drink?

Featured Replies

Zel, I take it you would rather drink Salamander poop instead? ;D

LOL FOM, here's the scoop on the salamander poop. I have a pipe with a brass screen filter inserted into the rocks where the spring originates from the mountain. The water is obtained before there is any contamination from salamander poop or Darter goop. 8-)

I think I have something in mind that you may like from the micro I mentioned earlier....

How dark are you talking? Guinness dark?

Yep!

Ok, I will be sure to include some in my pre-departure packing schedule.  Doesnt come any fresher than directly from the source   ;)

They have a variety pack, I will see what seasonals they have toward the middle of March.

The one I think you may enjoy is calles Susquehanna Stout.  If I can find a list w/ descriptions of the year-rounders, I will send it to you for some possible other selections.  Otherwise, I will pick for ya  LOL

Recently acquired a taste for Bourbon. Really like Woodford Reserve for the money, can't find a better tasting at that low price. Served on the rocks. Also enjoy a nice bottle of Wine from time to time too and for beer its Bells, which is out of Michigan. Love Bells Oberon in the late summer fall when it is out.

Foster's Special Bitter,  green can.  Blue Moon Ale on tap, with the orange slice.

LOL, Cold and free right RW.

I'm a beer guy. I dont like any of that other stuff except captain or Jager. My beer of choice is probably good ol Sam adams or a tasty budweiser.  The beer has to have taste.  Not the watered down crap like bud light or ultra.  Those are horrible the only exception is cold and free.  If I'm buying its  quality

Beer or wine, but mainly beer.

I've been trying many different styles and found that I like porters the best.  I also, brew my own so that makes it easy to get the fresh stuff!

Amber Bock most of the time because most restaurants carry it.  If I can find it, though, I like Tilburgs Dutch Brown Ale.

Now, as for you fellers putting orange slices in your beer: Man Law - Don't Fruit the Beer   8-)

Oh geez where to start... I am a college student...

Snake Bite

Dirty Girl Scout

Buttery Nipple

SoCo and Lime

Three Olives (Every Flavor)

Jager bomb

Surfer on acid

Rumpleminz

JD

Jonnie Walkers Black

There are more but there is a 9000 character limit..

Yurngling

Heineken

Labotts

Doseqes

Magic Hat

Honey Brown

PBR

Etc....

Do you have a favorite regional, full-bodied dark beer?

Have you been to Boscos in Memphis?

That place has some high quality beers brewed on site, really good food too.

http://www.boscosbeer.com/memphis/story/index.htm

I'm in Germantown on the east side of Memphis. We had the original Boscos (I think) and it was great! The restaurant/ bar was always hopping, but they must have gotten in a lease dispute. At any rate, they closed and I have not been to their club in Memphis.

LOL, Cold and free right RW.

Well, duh?

However there is one exception. A fellow I used to hunt with (a lot) always bought Natural Light because NO ONE else would drink it! And believe me, NO ONE else would.

Gunniess, Miller high Life, Boilermaker and Jack and Coke.

I do not drink much anymore however I do like a glass of wine and a margarita every once in awhile.

Back in the day I liked Bud Light and Bourbon/w Sun Drop. Liked them both alot, probably why I never finished college the first time around. Boy, I do not miss those days.

Haa haa,  Thats good.    I like natty more then any of that low carb crap.  Its not a choice if I'm buying though.  I like good beer.  Microbrews are some of my favorites because I just like trying different ones.  I had some flying monkey awhile back.  Not to bad.  Reason I bought it was because it said Flying monkey.

Orange Juice.  ;D

I generally drink Miller Lite, back when I was stationed on Okinawa I had a taste for Habu Saki. Not sure why now, the thought of looking at that snake makes me want to puke. I don't touch liqour anymore I had one too many fights.

Oh yeah I bet the ones putting fruit in beer also put jolly ranchers in their zima's  ;D

Always againts it until I tried it.  MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I pick the beer based on the food.  I like dark beers with steaks- St. Paulis Girl Extra Dark, Olde Town Porter.  I like Ambers and some Bocks.  Almost hate all Wheat beirs.   Sweetness doesn't do it for me.  Only cheap beer I drink is Coors Light on Halo night or when I am feeling especially trashy--MBL.  Can't get any cheaper.

I like just about any full flavored beer. If it says lite or light, or something like that, on the bottle, it ain't beer. I don't know what it is. I just know what it ain't.

For regional brews, Boulevard, out of Kansas City, makes several fine beers. I'm partial to their Pale Ale. Their Unfiltered Wheat and Porter are also very good

From Minneapolis comes Summit. I've only had the Wheat and the Pale Ale. Both were excellent.

For more widely available beers; Sam Adams ( never met a S.A. I didn't like ), Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog brewery are a few I buy on a regular basis. Almost always have some Guiness around the house.

We drink a lot wine with dinner at the Ghoti house. I won't get started on that.

I don't do too many mixed drinks. Mojitos, old-fashions and margeritas are about it for me. I prefer my spirits unmixed.

Favorite spirits;

Cognac, top of the list for me, Remy XO

Johnny Walker, Gold and Blue label

Bernheim Wheat whiskey, a new favorite

Gentleman Jack Daniels, an old fave

Bushmills Black label Irish whiskey, been drinking this since I was 15

I'd better stop here, or you all will be thinkin I'm a drunk.

Cheers,

GK
