Are You Tired All The Time?

Featured Replies

Lately, I have been tired everyday.  I usually go to sleep around 11 p.m. each night (sometimes later, sometimes earlier).  When I was in school, I would come home about 3:00 p.m. and I would just collapse because I was so tired.  Now that school is out I am still tired, but I don't work so there is nothing to make me tired.

Does anybody know what is wrong with or do you have a solution to keep me awake?

i'm the same way... :-/

Being bored is boring.

Solution = Exercise/Activity

I'm the same way.  I have a extremely comfy bed, so once I touch it, i'm done for.  I just try to keep myself busy.  Playing video games, re-organizing tackle, going to the gym, fishing, cleaning, etc.  The gym helps me ALOT.  Not only does it take up time, but gives me a bit of energy afterwards, and I'll end up sleeping 10 times better at night, therfore I wake up the next day feeling energized as well.

Also try eating healthier, or at least fit some greens in with your grease.

One other thing that kills me is getting into bad habits.  If I come home and take a nap after work a couple days in a row, my body thinks that everyday I should take a nap when I get home when I don't need it.  So try avoiding those things.

I'm sure all this sounds redundant, but this stuff really helps me.  Lots of my friends call me grandpa... I'm 22 years old, but really like my naps  ;D.  I can only imagine what i'll be like when I get to be old... like Burleys age   :-?

It doesn't get any more simple. If your eating right and getting exercise and still tired then you might have a problem.

Having said that...I'm exhausted  ;D

I'm the same. Try to sleep no more than 8 hours a day, but sometimes you can bend that rule if you feel really tired after a long day. Keep yourself active and eat better.

Solution:  Get off your lazy butt and get a job.

Solution: Get off your lazy butt and get a job.

Right, get a job at UPS if you want to know what "tired" is....

First signs of Depression and this could be very serious. The only cure for it is a low dose of Work, start off light and that would be from 6am till 6pm and then as you get use to it you can step it up a little. ::)

hook up to that boat and go. after the first cast youll forget all about tired.

I had a cousin that was tired all of the time.  It turned out he had diabetes.  If exercise and diet change don't help, I'd seriously consider seeing a doctor.

That being said, I'm not a doctor, and I don't know if that is usual.  If I were you, I'd put more weight on what the actual doctors on this site have to say.

diabetes will make you tired all the time man, may i suggest seeing a doctor. and if he doesn't diagnose you with anything get off your butt and exercise!!

try being active, medicaly it could be anything from depression, diabetes (unlikely, there would be other symptoms),anemia (most common),try taking vitamins see if those help out.if you have other symptoms, feeling weak, dizzy, going to the bathroom alot/less id go to your local doctor and have them draw blood for lab work.

I'm same way right now. In high school I never had this problem, but in college is whole different story.

I need to start writing out a diet plan (eating healthy and right) and find time to go ride my mountain bike and do simple exercise.

I've been skipping breakfast pretty much since college started. I sometime eat a small or big lunch (depends if I got money) and I eat at home and again late in the evening.

I have either been too tired to go fishing, had no money for gas, or had a lot to study for. :( I haven't been fishing since last week of May.  :( I am fishing on Father's Day, so I better get some studying done. :o

Was until I gave up sugar. :)

Yup, and caffine

Healthy balanced meal,  excersice, and no sugar/caffine/energy drinks.  Your good to go then.

Pick up a monster BFC. It stands for "Big F$#$in Can" Caffeine overload!

Seriously though, you should go to a sleep specialist. A family member of mine had the exact same symptoms as you and they were just diagnosed with a form of narcolepsy.

this used to happen to me in college and even some after college. I would sleep to much and get what I call mushy brain, you know you got enough sleep but you are still tired all day. YOu can get into a real funk when this starts to happen because it is hard to get out of because, if you don't have any reason to get up everyday after only 7 or 8 hours of sleep (i.e. work) you will never break the cycle. Try setting an alarm clock for 7 or 8 hours after you plan to go to bed and get up at that time and have some sort of activity planned. That should help and if it doesn't go see your doctor, but don't just let him give you some pill, there is way too much of that going on when small lifestyle changes can make a huge difference.

Just recently I started working out after I got off work and have been able to stay up to 11 or 12pm but before I started working out I could barely stay up until 10pm and I have to get up at like 7:15 in the morning. so I was getting to much sleep.

Could be sleep apnea. Do a google search and see if any of the symptoms fit.

The question is how tired are you? If you are just sleepy then chances are it's your habits. But if you truly cannot function there could be something more serious going on. When I was sick about 6-7 months ago with I could sleep 14-18 hours a day. And even now between somethings and the meds they have me on I can sleep 12-14 hours a day. Which wasn't good when I was at UPS from 4-9am, school 10-3, then working again from 5-10. Also at your age you really need to be careful because it is when a lot of health issues first begin to show up. I would also at least see a doctor to have blood taken make sure you don;t have the typical high school mono or even Lyme disease.

All replies should have suggested seeing a doctor. Coming here to ask a medical question is ridiculous. The only legitimate answer will come from a face to face interaction with a physician. You do have a medical question!

Right on George.

I see no M.D. or D.O. after anyone's name.

See a real doctor and/or a dietician and get a physical exam.

Geez fella's calm down, I just asked a question.  If you don't like it simply exit the thread and go somewhere else.

Tired!  hahahahahahahahahaha

Let's see....I get up at 4:40am, go to work, get home at 3:00pm, do housework and yardwork, etc. if needed.  Pick up 2 kids from daycare at 4:30, have supper ready by about 5:30 when wife gets home.  Bath kids, 1 year old down by about 8:00, 4 year old down by about 9:00 and in bed by about 10:00.  Oh yeah, did I mention that my wife and I are both full time college students thrown in on top of this.....now we're talking tired!!!!   :D
