rattle or no rattle on jigs

Featured Replies

When do you choose to use one with or without?

Do you have a preference for each season?

Do some of you always use jigs with rattle and some just never use rattles?

I'm new to fishing jigs so I need help.

Never.

I've had better luck without

Never made a difference with or without. If anything I think it helps the fish find it in grass or at night.

I've used both but find no difference in murky water, grass or at night so I don't use them at all anymore  ;)

I use them most of the time.

Always. buckshot rattles, the claw version.

I'm native to murky water though.

i use rattles in dingy water or if the jig bite turns off. its only worked a few times for me on the latter. i usually use a black jig in shallow water when using rattles.

I use rattles most of the time .actually the only i dont is when they get ripped off the jig ive been wacking bass on all day . I like rattles, i read some where that crayfish make clicking sounds so ive always used them .True or not i dont know but i catch a lot of fish on a jig.

Ill use them if there already attached to the jig, but the ones that I build myself have none.

My vote No rattles!

I only use them if water is very muddy which our rivers here in alabama do so very well.... :;)

Judging by all of these posts, I guess it doesn't matter  ;)

Personally, I always use rattles. I don't have confidence without them.
