What is your favorite top water lure?

LC Sammy and Gsplash.

I replace the rear treble with an Owner feathered treble hook on the Sammy.

Pop-R especially after a long..................... pause... SLAM.  I can hear the Jaw's theme music now, but any top water bite is awesome.

I've probably caught more fish on the Heddon Lucky 13 than any other top-water.   But since last season, I've been taken with the Ima Roumba.  This bait is the bomb-digity.  If you haven't tried one, give one a whirl.  A little expensive, but fished over submerged grass, it draws the blowups.

I was SO close to buying one of these but instead went with the LC Kelly J Prop Bait. Still going to try and get one though next time I make a purchase online.

I forgot about frogs and toads, too - they are in a whole 'nother category, like buzzbaits for me, so I forget to mention them as well. For Frogs I like:

Spro

Bigfoot

Snagproof

Basyrisky

Scumfrogs

Believe it or not, Wal Mart buzzbaits. They are $1 and usually on the bottom rack. Buy a few, not all of them spin correctly. Because of that, I found that by bending the blades at more of an angle, some of them will make a wicked loud whistling noise and when I could get that to happen, watch out baby, those bass get mad as hell.

Rapala originals, straight and jointed

Another vote for the 'lowly' Pop R :

I had found a Pop R at the lake that someone had lost. All of the color had been bleached away by the elements, leaving it an off white color that resembles ivory. Replaced the hooks and split rings, now it's an absolute killer. I just may stock up on a few and hang them on the fence for the summer so I will always have one.

I have caught more bass on a buzz bait than all other topwater lures combined, but I really like fishing a Devil's Horse.

Zara Super Spook Jr.

Years ago it was the Creek Chub Plunker in an olive color. When I took up fishing again last year, it was disappointing to see they are no longer available.

There are similar lures available, but the rear of them is convex, rather than concave as seen in the photo.

The wooden version of these were excellent. But are hard to get now the lure collectors are buying them.
