Sit or stand?

Which do you prefer while fishing? I stand most of the time for most techniques except when I'm using worms. I find it hard to stand and fish slow.

Stand always, but an occasional sit to rest.

The only time I sit is to rest or if I'm fishing from a kayak.

same. i almost always sit when fishing plastics, unless i'm pitching into cover.

I sit. Boat's too small. :-[

I used to sit when I fished in a canoe but now I can stand in my other boat, so I stand all the time. I feel like I can't fish as well when I am sitting.

Both but with major back problems it's sitting more ;)

I stand . My boat came with a seat for the front , but it is in a closet.

Exactly what i do! I tried a hard hook set with a t-rig while sitting once and almost fell out of the boat!!!

Sit and I prefer lower seats as to decked/high pedestals

Stand,I find it awkward sitting down trying to set the hook.I fell off a rock once doing that. :-[

Why did you have a rock in the boat in the first place???

I always stand......

During the day, I always stand.

At night I always sit unless I am throwing swimbaits. Dont know why I always sit while night fishing, but I always have.

always stand.

unless im out fishing for more than 3+ hours , OR if some buddies are around and drinks/BSing is involved.

Usually standing or on the leaning post.

I stand always. No seat on the front deck. I would be opposite of the posters above if I did sit, I would be throwing something that had treble hooks on it. I pretty much use my whole body to set the hook using plastics. It usually starts with a step back.

i do both, but probably stand more than sit.

If I can (depending on who is in the boat and how wake is), I will stand. Get a better view of what is going on and I have much more control while casting.

That being said I do my fair share of sitting, and can be effective that way as well. The new rig I want to buy in the spring, that will be a standing rig.

I stand for as long as I'm able to, but sit frequently. These old bones can't take it standing all day any more!

Its easier for me to set the hook while I am standing.  The only times I sit are when I am changing baits or eating.

Since I don't do any break dancing on the front deck (Ike style), I have either a sit down or stand up seat up front. For flipping and pitching, I prefer the stand up seat for everything else, especially deep cranking, I prefer a sit down. I have lower back issues so some type of sitting/leaning is better for me.
