What's Your Favorite Type of Strike?

Featured Replies

My #1 favorite is the loud splash of a hawg bass slamming my Rage Toad! Closely following in second is that mushy feeling in my rod as a fish just barely picks up my T-Rig!

When they smash my topwater baits as I give them a little walking action. Especially when smallmouth do it. ahh so nice   :)

Topwater at all times, but especially at night.  Yes, you don't get to see it, but it's just as sweet hearing it.

i LOVE seein' a big ol' bucketmouth slurp down a hornytoad!!!!

When dragging a worm or lizard across the top of the pads.  Sometimes you can see the pads start to move a few feet from the bait and BAM!

I like to be sitting in a boat just before sun up with the fog rising off a glass smooth lake just reveling in the beauty of the setting with a popper sitting out there waiting for the rings to disappear when a bass slams out of the water to kill the popper and dang near scares me into jumping out of the boat. WOW!

When your working a jig or a soft plastic along the bottom and one hits it so hard that it almost pulls the rod out of your hands.

My all time favorite type of strike, comes on a crankbait. The feeling you get when steadily cranking in the bait only to have it just STOP, You pull back to feel the powerful head shake.

Big girl coming up and inhaling a Johnson Silver Minnow skittered over and through grass on Santee!!

I love a top-water strike............no guess work involved.

Jitterbug is my all-time favorite top water lure, working it thru some lillypads or grass.........and the bass just kills it.

Steve

If I can land them after the strike and put them in the well, I love them all!!!!

No preference to lure......my favorite would be the last one I had.

Regardless of lure I love it when I set hook & the bass sets hook back   :o
